You don't get it DuckinTN, when the number of stars held by recruits are all that matter to you, Oregon's O-Line is TERRIBLE.

oline is probably the only position where i would agree that stars don't matter.

100% agree. though i'd argue winning it would be a MUCH bigger deal. Vtech is still pretty good, but hasn't sniffed the NC game since vick.

I can see uncle Phil throwing a few hundred million dollars at the athletic program if Oregon goes to the title game. May as well strike the iron while it's hot, expand the stadium to 70,000 and give some recruits money under the table to commit to the Ducks.

The last part was a joke...

he already tried to buy success with the basketball team and failed miserably. people still don't want to live in eugene. this wont change. hard to imagine what he can do that he already hasn't done re oregon football.

Funny that this commit specifically mention how much loving Eugene factored into this decision.

Kinda funny that we just pulled a 5 star after an awful, awful year and the replacement of a coaching staff.

some kids might like it certainly, but the overwelming majority of so cal kids wont like it and that has been proven over time. hell gabe king spent a year in eugene as a senior in HS and couldn't wait to get out of there and go to the bay area.

Honestly, I'm glad we didn't get him.

He's a talented kid, but whiners and people that can't keep a commitment have no place in our program.

i see. so kelly doesn't take decommits from other programs? kelly treated the kid like he was something to be bought and sold. i don't blame him for being resentful.

There's a big difference between moving to the city that you say you're going to go to college and play football in and then bailing than a high school kid that really doesn't know what he wants saying "Yeah, I'm a Texas/Florida/USC/whatever guy all the way", and then changing his mind and going to Oregon.

recruits change their mind all the time, Kelly would be all over a sought after a player if he showed interest after deciding to look around.

bs. kids change their mind. that's what they do. he didn't like it there. would you have rather he transfered his freshman year? you certainly can't argue he didn't have enough information to make that decision.

Refer to what I said to droski.

I don't know the specifics but it sounds like the kid didn't like the situation there when he immersed himself into it for whatever reason. No different than a kid growing up near a program proclaiming himself to be all whoever before being lured away to a different program.

Just sounds like sour grapes to me.

Ok, so why didn't Lache Seastrunk move to LA when he was supposedly a firm USC commit?

No, I don't have anything against him. I just don't think he would've fit in with Kelly's philosophy, which is a shame considering how talented he is.

Full effort at all times at practice, Win the Day, etc.

From all I heard about Cal's fall practices, King was being considered "soft" and a bit of a whiner.

he was injured in the fall. how can you be soft if you dont' see the field? i assure you tedford has turned down many recruits because their attitude sucks. one is currently a starter on USC's d line. i find it very hard to believe that kelly wouldn't have blown gabe if he thought it would get him to sign an LOI to oregon.
