Mitch Mustain...

Whose OL cant block? This is a better unit than last yrs line which performed better than at least half the olines in the conference.

:eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol:

How is it a better unit when every guy on the OL is going to be starting for the first time?

I just dont get how some of you guys in this fan base can make comments like this. They are so outlandish it's unbelievable.

OL is just as big a hole as DT will be. Pretty important position, wouldn't you say?

Do you factor depth in at all when it comes to looking at each position? Because they lack quality depth at a lot of positions. OL, DT, LB, CB, S, etc...

LB? we could go 8 deep at lb and not miss much. Partoly because we dont have any great lbs but there is no depth issue. OL would be a hole if we didnt have good players. We have better offensive line talent than, vandy, kentucky, south carolina, miss state, ole miss. But we are going to go 5-7 because we have so little depth. HAHAHA

How many guys never played before lasty yr? I can comments like that because it is widely excepted that this is a more talented group.

You seriously think talent, especially inexperienced talent, automatically equals success for an OLINE unit?

Experience and unit cohesiveness is by far more important on the offensive line than any other position on the football field. If you don't have that, you are going to have serious issues.

Wow.

The guys on the bench arent going to win anything anyway. Depth is way overrated. People just seem to assume that most of our players are going to get knocked out for the season. Thats probably not going to happen.

Every OL last year had 4-5 years of experience in games or practice. The Sullins twins might not have played before but they still went head to head against Dan Williams and Co. everyday in practice.

More important than any other position on the field by far? Stop yourself now.

:lolabove::lolabove::lolabove::lolabove::lolabove: Yeah depth is way overated! So is recruiting. So is going against quality backups in practice day in and day out. So is filling up 85 scholarships. Heck we only need 25 players on the roster and we'll be winning SEC Championships.

Yep you are damn right it is. Somehow the thought process is that if your third stringer isnt good you are lost. Which is dumb as hell

He's right

Offensive line experience is not even close to the most important. But even if it was. Every yr freshman play well at every single position accross the country. There is no position where you are automatically going to fail just because you are a freshman.

WTF does this have to do with anything? So because there are some freshman that play well across the country, it means our Offensive Line is going to be good, isn't a question mark and will be better than last year's?

We are not even two deep on the OL.

There is a reason the majority of OL are redshirted.

Each pro camp the OL hangs together like no other unit. Cohesion and experience are absolutely critical for OL play.

I still hope for the best.

it's not just that they are young but the guys who will be starting this season got beat out by a couple of 265lb walk-ons last year. Not really the stuff legends are made of
