ESPN classic is running their past games. And does anyone know exactly why Pat stopped the series?

Pat always says "ask Geno" when asked why. I do not believe he ever answered the question.

Had something to do with the fact that she felt Geno illegally recruited Moore....i remember hearing something to do with it

Let's just say that Maya and her mom never had squat while here in Georgia, but Ms. Moore has a very nice job and condo in Conneticut now. That may have something to do with it. Pat has said she may renew the game once Maya has left UCONN.

those grapes are that sour? really?

not that i care, because i don't, but the Lady Vol fans sound like Mexican boxing purists after the second time Oscar De La Hoya beat Julio Cesar Chavez like a drum....

It sucks, but theres a new sheriff in town

I believe the core issue is that UCONN arranged for Moore to get a free tour of the ESPN studios in Bristol, CT during her official visit, as well as the suspicious job/house setup for her mother as was previously stated. Somehow the whole ESPN thing was only a secondary violation. Oh well, what's done is done.

Yep, he has the answer. He should just come right out and tell. Not sure why he doesn't. Does UCONN have a long standing rivalry type game going with anyone? Just curious. I don't follow them so I don't know the answer. Someone asked me and I didn't have an answer. I always feel odd after being painted with a broad brush, too.

The housing thing, the job thing and the ESPN trip were not the only things involved. There were some things involving Bird and Taurausi with recruiting Maya as well. I can't personally say if any of it's true or not, but Pat Summitt has never been afraid to play anybody. That makes me think she really believes something illegal took place. I could care less if they played during the season or not. It's all about championships and you have to beat everyone standing in the way.

I give Geno credit. I think he is a very good coach. UCONN is always the best passing team out there. When they click it's amazing to watch. He just happens to be a horses rear but that's what adds some flavor to the rivalry. GO LADY VOLS!!!

i also heard it was illegally recruiting Moore. when asked to either coach about it, each say ask the other. TN was UCONN's biggest rivalry and hopefully they will meet in the sweet 16! hopefully integrity will prevail! go CPS!

They won't meet until at least the Final Four, if UT gets that far.

So if the "new sheriff" cheats we should be okay with it?

Why is it than anyone who can one up or beat UT is either cheating or has the refs/comissioner in their pocket, per the rank and file of this board.

If the prior posts are correct, what would you call it?

So what is the NCAA's position on this. Oh yeah, message board hearsay and sour grapes don't warrant an investigation.

Let me guess, the NCAA is teaming with Slive and Kiffin to really screw UT.

The question started with "if" and the initial question was why Pat stopped playing UCONN. Do we really know the answer. "Message board hearsay" includes Geno questioning aspects of Pat's personal life. I just wondered what the true story was.

May have been more to it than that, too. UT filed 30 pages of documentation with the NCAA alleging UCONN violations. What was in it? We'll probably never know. It appears to be down the rabbit hole. Also, there are, hearsay, allegations regarding G bad mouthing Pat to potential recruits during the recruiting process. I don't know what's true and what may not be. Just stuff that's out there is what it is.

I agree and if any of this is true.....it is shameful.

Kentucky and Alabama cheat all of the time. Do we stop playing them?

Pat is dead wrong on this issue...

I don't see where dropping UCONN is that big of a deal to our program. It was an OOC game that was to be or not to be. We had it for a while and now we don't. Meanwhile, G chases the legend. He may catch up with all the records, but Pat will be deep in retirement by then.:pat:

Once Kentucky and Alabama leave the SEC, this argument will make sense.
We could have petitioned to leave the conference.

Makes about as much sense to leave a conference with cheaters as it does to not play an out of conference opponent based on cheating accusations.

You don't run away from competition. Period.
