Word is that Lickliter is getting fired today. Would Pearl go back to Iowa?

My answer is no, not a chance.

No. He'll just use this as an opportunity to get yet another raise at the end of the season.

With the class we have coming in that have already signed, I doubt it. If he did, we would be fine.

No, Iowa already tried to get Pearl and it didn't work. Now, Pearl is more entrenched at UT. Plus, UT is a better program with more money and a far superior recruiting base. Iowa has the odd player, like Raef LaFrentz or Harrison Barnes, but you aren't getting Final Four talent from Des Moines and Cedar Rapids.

Pearl is not going anywhere. He is paid well and is happy here. With the recruits he is bringing in, there is absolutely no reason to believe we aren't moving toward a truly elite program.

If Pearl tries to play this for another raise, he may cause fans and the admin to become a bit weary of this drama every year. He could easily squander the good will he has with the fans if he keeps doing this stuff.

Go ahead and raise your hand if you would pass up an opportunity to not only get a raise, but get a raise for your entire staff. I'll just wait over here and count..............

I wouldn't call Iowa an attractive draw. I think Bruce would rather be in Knoxville. Maybe they can get Baldy to leave Vandy, though.
