Tennessee under NCAA investigation over use of recruiting hostesses

Funny that you mention this.
Last night I went on the recruiting forum and the thread you are talking about was at the very top of the page. I clicked on it and got a message telling me that I could not access it. Thought for a sec I had been banned for some reason. I clicked on another thread and had no problems. I then went back to the forum and the thread was gone.
My bet is that it was removed.

yet i have been able to download a copy of the whole thing, some of you guys are REAL class acts!!

it was not hard to find either, I am not sure if Freak can pull strings to have it removed?

Just the 3 to 4 not pictured.

Pretty odd to me, that there is not one overweight girl there. With the vast majority of them being more attractive than the average girl on campus.

I'm sure you're one of the guys who believes Hooters is all about the owls.

so you're saying you know absolutely nothing about them and gathered all your info from a photo. Got it :good!:

i think you may be looking too much into it

If it turns out to be a bunch of BS, i'd sue if i were those hostesses. Sue the NCAA and NYT, Bart Durham is foaming at the mouth.

Hahahaha. The comments under the article on this one are pretty funny. They must let anything go on there.

Here is the new link to the ESPN article, Hannah Storm mentions the message boards right away and they interview the writer as well.

How about telling us exactly which Hooters restaurant you go to and what kind of "services" are being provided there.... You are insinuating that the servers there are somehow something other than waitresses is absurd... Yeah, they're there to be looked at but they ain't selling lapdances.

The NYT reporter really seems to think the NCAA has something on UT's hostesses that would be a major infraction... not just sign holding and recruiting off campus.

Nice video link. Thanks.

It seems he's basing that on the timing and the fact that the investigation interferes with recruiting since none of the six or so kids they've contacted have signed with UT yet. He suggests the norm is to do this sort of investigation later.

The University hasn't received a "written notice" from the NCAA. You'd think if this were serious they would have given us one, unless this is some rogue investigation.

But, as I said, the NYT doesn't make a habit of carrying stories that go nowhere. That's what worries me, regardless of what rumors are being floated around.

LOL, are you serious? From last year:

On October 13, The New York Times gravely informed us that the economy was causing stress for travelers. Not just the economy in general, but specifically that the "crisis on Wall Street was the No. 1 cause of anxiety" for travelers. And, they had a survey to prove it, too. Or so NYT writer Paul Burnham Finney claimed. But, on October 21 the Times was forced to issue a little correction to Finney's tall tale. You see, it turns out writer Finney outright lied about some of his claims and quotes.

In fact, it turns out that freelancer Finney made up quite a few "facts" for his story.

if this is a common practice, why is it getting UT national headlines? W/out sifting through 50 pages of this thread, is there a more serious concern regarding UT's use of 'hostesses' compared to other programs?

Whoa...someone's sister or girlfriend work at Hooters?

Same here. Reputation is a precious thing. I know the article doesn't flat out say what the girls are doing, but people read between the lines and draw thier own conclusions. The NYT had better have some kind of evidence outside of heresay that these things are happening, because as a female myself, if I were one of these girls I would be PISSED.

Nope. No evidence of a more serious concern mentioned whatsoever.

Not at all... I've actually been to a Hooters restaurant a few times anyway, but the insinuation that a pretty girl can't be anything other that a prostitute if she capitalizes on her good looks is patently absurd.

Actually you twit, I'm insinuating that the name "hooters" refers to mammary glands, rather than an owl.

And I am saying that this "orange pride" or whatever group there is, is a bit more than just a student organization to support the football team. If you can't put 2 and 2 together on this, then you're naive.
