Who really has the Pressure in The Swamp????

So you don't think there is any pressure on Jonathon Crompton? After the craptastic performace against UCLA at home, he has to go on the road in arguably the toughest environment in college football and face the top ranked, defending National Champs and one of the best ball hawking defenses in the country. Yeah, no pressure there at all.

Lane Kiffin after flapping his piehole in the offseason, has to enter this hostile environment and play a team that has owned Tennessee for 4 straights years. He must try to back up his bravado by facing the monumental task of getting a putrid offense to move the ball against one of the top 5 defenses in college football while facing the best offense QB'ed by the best QB in college football. Nope- No pressure there at all.

Florida is playing at home where they have the best home record in college football over the past 20 seasons. They are loaded with returning starters from a National Championship team and they are loaded with confidence. They are a seasoned, focused bunch who will not be feeling any pressure whatsoever against Tennessee.

You heard it right. No pressre on us. It's all on UF. With your SOS, a loss to us would close the curtains on ANY hope for a NC. You won't even be in the show.

LOL! I'm about to die laughing here!

It's Lane Kiffin, with his bachelor's degree in leisure service management, and recent crap track record as a head coach, in a psychological duel with Urban Meyer with his degree in psychology and 2 National Championships. Next up, Urban will challenge Lane to a duel to see who can keep food costs down at a major leisure resort! Oh! I can't wait!

The tale of the tape:

Urban Meyer:

# 2001 Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year

# 2003 Sporting News National Coach of the Year

# 2003 and 2004 Mountain West Conference Coach of the Year

# 2004 Home Depot Coach of the Year Award

# 2004 George Munger Award for the Collegiate Coach of the Year

# 2004 Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year

# 2004 Pro Football Weekly National Coach of the Year

# 2004 Woody Hayes Trophy Award, and

# 2004 Victor Award.

# 2006 SEC Championship

# 2006 National Championship

# 2008 SEC Championship

# 2008 National Championship

Lane Kiffin:

# Impregnated Layla

# Flunked out of the NFL

# Ran his mouth and got reprimanded by the SEC
I find it interesting that you never directly commented on the specifics of the matter at hand and what it accomplished for LK....even though he said it in a joking manner that was taken out of context (imagine that) to make it seem more brash. It doesn't change the reasons, but certainly increases the flame factor. So, did it not shift the pressure from18 yr olds to Kiff? Did it not put the spotlight on Tn? Pub is pub......just ask rodman or TO. Did it help a four week assembled staff shock the nation recruiting wise? You can't see the forrest for the trees. Nobody has said that CUM wasn't a good coach or is ignorant of their records. We can compare that again when LK is his age. Nothing you said even remotely spoke to my points troll!!
as a sidenote, I'd say CUM's behavior, good coach or not, is more like a spoiled HS punk than a Jungian disciple or Tsun Su. He is shallow and an emotional 3 yr old.

Lol! Allrighty then. He was trying to take the pressure away from the kids and put it on himself. Unfortunately, his "kids" are going to be the whipping boys this weekend. No pressure there!

As for the "any publicity is good publicity" angle, good luck with that. Besides, I've noticed that he shut his yap after being smacked down by the SEC Commish and the press. Maybe he forgot your maxim. Either that, or he is a genius, waiting for next opportunity to put his middle-aged frat boy costume back on and pee in the neighbor's bushes again.

Urban Meyer is a crybaby. Gotcha. Cryer rhymes with Meyer, so it must be true. You UT folks aren't even original. FSU started that little ditty a couple of years back.

The four week recruiting spree was an ambush, pure and simple. Judging by what came out of your head coach's mouth in front of the cameras, there's no telling what was spewed at young kids on the recruiting trail, away from microphones and cameras. Seriously, he made a bloody fool of himself and UT in front of the nation, by not knowing a lick about the NCAA recruting rules, breaking them while accusing others of breaking them. He probably stomped all over those rules in kid's living rooms as well. Those kids don't have a lie detector on their kitchen table, but they'll have plenty of SEC coaches around to set them straight, especially now that those SEC coaches know what they're dealing with.

Kiffin has a reputation of saying what he needs to say and shrugging later, after he's been exposed. The problem is that people take the snake oil home, drink a sip, and instead of growing hair, their genitals fall off, just like UT football's will do. The SEC coaches now know what Kiffin is all about, and they'll be more than happy to show him how the big boys work it. Heck, there's plenty of SEC has-beens on the trash heap after recruiting stellar classes. At least one is on your coaching staff. So, you'd better hope that he recruits well for the next 2 years, because your next coach needs something to work with.

Like I said in another thread, it's one thing having a 5-star, porn star package, but if you don't know how to use it, you're not going anywhere. Lane Kiffin's erectile dysfunction will be on display for all kids to see over the next couple of years, and he'll soon take his little snake oil wagon to the next unsuspecting town in about 3 years, when the suckers in Knoxville dry up, just like he has from Oakland.

I don't have an issue with you having dreams, though. Everyone has to have hope in the future. So, enjoy your hopes and dreams... while losing.

I don't care if UF wins by one point, just so long as they win. On the other hand, losing by 14 points would be considered a victory by many here. Such is the state of UT football...

By the way, everyone but UT fans see what's going on. UT couldn't find a proven, championship caliber coach, so they hired a pretty face and threw cash at assistants who were proven recruiters. That way, the cupboard will be full when a real coach becomes available. They'll then flush the frat boy like a steaming load of excrement, and snap up that coach asap. UT fans will go along, because after 2 or 3 seasons of EPIC FAIL, they'll be ready for a change.

precisely

many are saying that these Gators are the best college team ever (AP poll voters, for example) with the best college QB ever and best coach ever. plus now they have additional focus and motivation and want to win this game more than any other on their schedule.

no way the Gators lose this one. it would be the greatest gag in the history of sports if they managed to lose. in fact if the differential is any less than 72-0 or so it would still be considered an unmitigated gag given the mismatch and all the pregame beatdown threats.

of course, if CLK had not been facetious (Gators can find that word in an online dictionary) during the presser the end result would have been the same, except that there would have been no lead story in papers across the country, on the major news networks, on forums, etc.

washington vs USC this weekend is probably a more interesting story line, but instead a rebuilding team that went 5-7 last year is getting the press and airtime. good job, CLK!

Pressure? Who freaking cares? The pressure was on UF in 2006 and 2008 during both the SECCGs and the two MNC games and it didn’t deter them. The pressure was on LSU in 2007 for both the SECCG and the MNC. It didn’t deter them.

On the other hand, there was little pressure on UT last week. They had a new coach with a new system coming off a horrific year. They were playing a non-conference team and had not pressure to make it to the SECCG, much less the MNC. Yet, the Vols lost despite the lack of pressure.

Every year, the big dogs like UF, USC, UTexas, Oklahoma, and tOSU have enormous pressure on them to win the games their supposed to win. Yet, despite the pressure they win the overwhelming games that they are favored to win.

Meanwhile, schools like Vandy, Kentucky, Mississippi State, and most recently UT have little or no pressure on them. Still, they have losing seasons.

Ive posed the question to gators on here the last 2 days, without reply.

What would the score be, less the CLK comments?
