Jeff Luc would be in jail for manslaughter if he had played the Western team I saw today.
probably charged in 3 separate incidents.
I would say the VOLS have as a good as shot at getting LUC vs the other Florida Universities, even if he does give a verbal to another school. The new coaching staff is pretty incredible when it comes down to recruiting. They take the recruiting process all the way till signing day. Look what they did in 2009 with very little time. Doesn't this staff get you pumped up!
Urban Meyer is a pretty darn good recruiter himself. I realize that you are impressed by Lane's recruiting abilities, but he's not the only one he takes the recruiting process to signing day. Luc will not leave the state and will go to UF or FSU. Miami has no shot as his mother won't let him go there.
JMVA are you a member of the media? If not then how are you not violating NCAA rules when you contact prospects and coaches?
First of all, yes technically it's breaking a rule if you don't have "credentials" but I have said before that the NCAA can't and won't stop people that do it.
Second of all, I don't have a little a badge that I carry when I speak to recruits that says "I'm a member of the media and I have credentials" but If any officials ever questioned me, I could provide them with credentials. I can get media passes to pretty much any high school sports/recruiting event, and actually have media passes for the 2010 Under Amour All American Game.
If any posters have a problem with me contacting recruits, they can PM me. Otherwise, I don't see why anybody here would want me to stop. A lot more good comes out of it then bad.
Some guys just like to go on opposing teams message boards and say "Gator lock" "We will throttle you" and "no chance"....worked out well for Bryce Brown, Oku, Janzen Jackson, Teague and Richardson huh?
Here is an article today off the Orlando Sentinal-
"10) Jeff Luc (linebacker, Port St. Lucie) The buzz: Some questioned Luc's rapid ascension up the boards, given some of the competition the school faces, he's certainly made a believer out of the coaches that have shown up at Treasure Coast High and seen tape of his 125 tackles and nine sacks last season. Florida, Florida State and Miami are in the hunt (as are USC, LSU, Alabama and Ohio State). And don't rule out Georgia, which took a flyer on Luc's linebacker mate Deon Rogers." Interesting the Orlando Sentinal do not mention the VOLS name. Maybe we steal him from Florida just like Nuke....

All of these reports fail to mention Luc having much interest in UT, but with Lane and the rest of the staff working 24/7 I'm not counting anyone out until they sign their LOI. Getting Luc would be a huge deal, especially for the national perception of UT after landing Bryce in the previous recruiting class. And considering all of the powerhouse schools involved in his recruitment and the fact that UF/FSU/UM are pursuing him heavily, getting Luc could put us in the same class as USC, Florida, and Texas--schools that can get best of the best from anywhere in the country to come play for them.
So I'm curious, how much of a chance do you guys think you have with Luc percentage wise?
BTW, he was at the FSU game tonight.(Yes!)
