Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

The fifth catch in that video, against SCar, was absolutely amazing. There was massive defensive interference, which of course Birmingham had no intention of calling, yet somehow Squirrel made the play, anyway.

(That was also the 41-20 win when Kamal Hadden got the pick six off Ratler and our sideline went wild, with Umarov waving the chair in the air. 😂)

An underrated win.

Scripture — Acts 10:34–35 (NIV)
“Then Peter began to speak: ‘I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right.’”

Reflection:
This moment in Acts is bigger than Peter giving a speech—it’s a moment where God reshapes Peter’s understanding.
Peter had walked with Jesus. He had seen miracles. He had preached truth. And yet here, God was still expanding his vision.

“I now realize…”
Those four words carry humility.
They remind us that spiritual maturity isn’t knowing everything—it’s being willing to let God correct, stretch, and deepen what we thought we understood.

Peter realized God’s heart was always bigger than the boundaries people created.
God sees beyond nationality, background, status, past mistakes, personality, or outward appearance. He looks at the heart—the one who reveres Him, seeks Him, and walks in truth.

Sometimes we need Acts 10 moments in our own lives. Moments where God challenges our assumptions. Moments where He reminds us not to write people off. Moments where He expands our compassion, our perspective, and even our calling.

Growth often begins with the humility to say:
“I now realize…”

Prayer:
Lord, thank You that Your love is not limited by human boundaries, labels, or assumptions. Search my heart for places where I have unknowingly built walls that You never built. Give me Peter’s humility—to be teachable, correctable, and willing to grow. Help me see people the way You see them, with compassion, truth, and grace. Expand my perspective where it has become narrow, and align my heart with Yours. May my faith never become rigid, but always remain open to Your leading and Your greater purpose. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Dodgers are going to have a so/ so year. It is, what it is. But yes the Dodgers seem to bring the best out of the Giants every year, no matter the records.

SF hasn’t split or won the season series vs LAD since 2021 and that’s the only season they’ve accomplished that since 2016.

Be curious to see if CTV can do it and have at least one nice thing this season 😆

The new Yankees fanship.
The Dodgers use to try and win 100+ games and would always lose in the playoffs. Pitchers would be wore out and position players hurt. Now they rotate pitchers through the IL and utilize a lot of minor league pitchers throughout the year. They rotate the position players regularly and will utilize the IL for them as well. The Dodgers are winning at the same level as last season.
