2026 Vols Transfer Portal Thread

Dang. First visit of the offseason to not result in a commit. Seemed like just what we needed, a guy with real size who won’t be mad playing ~10 minutes a game or less. Still, I think if we stay healthy, we’ll mostly be ok

I like most of that but your last sentence is a push. Also I still think we're a little undersized and as been mentioned short one guy in the 4/5 spot. Apparently Coach Barnes think we're a little undersized too otherwise he would not have been looking at a player 7'1".

I'm not sure what a dull program like Virginia is selling maybe besides the area. I know they won a title but they were shortly back as an afterthought.

If they want a serviceable big they are going to have to accept the fact that they may have to in their opinion over pay.

Could have been money or PT too. Didn’t UVA’s front court all graduate?

Sure, but there’s space between the ideal and being ok. Ideally we would have more size, but I don’t think it’s a catastrophic situation. But I am higher on Brown and Lue than many, and probably feel about like the average fan does of Rubin

FYI, Virginia's entire starting front court returns. In fact, every member of the roster with eligibility returns. No one left via the transfer portal. You might attribute this to either Virginia has some very deep pockets which are keeping everyone satisfied, and/or Coach Odom is building something of which everyone wants to be a part. 30-6 isn't all that bad a record for a coach's first season at a school with a completely rebuilt roster.

Or they were overpaying and none got a strong offer. All kinds of possibilities. Any known offers? In the portal?

No one eligible to do so entered the portal. Everyone appeared to be quite happy to be at Virginia. It had been thought that de Ridder would leave for the NBA, but he decided to stay, too. Additionally, how do you "overpay" to keep a roster intact that just went 30-6?

Yea but he be one exception. . Just to quick with so much skills. Been guy shorter than he is make it . Less ability too

Problem is, the NBA has shifted towards bigger versatile guards with the same ball skills and shooting ability, while small guards like TT just don’t have a lot of value in today’s game.

Now could he make a lot of money in the G-League/oversees? That I could see but I don’t see him being a good NBA prospect despite being an incredible college player.

Maybe I’m wrong but we’ll see.

Even though TT is at least a couple of inches shorter, someone like Tyrese Maxey should be his role model. And TT has the advantage of being a natural PG.

To claim TT can't play in the league just sounds like sour grapes. I think he ultimately comes back for another year though to try to be a sure 1st rounder because he probably would have to show out in these workouts.
