No you are deliberately misrepresenting what I said.

I never claimed to have it tougher than a poor person. I was just explaining that I grew up in a single mom household with a sibling and we did not qualify for or receive the same government assistance that some poorer families get. Things like subsidized housing food benefits Medicaid etc. That stuff gives them privileges that low income families just above the cutoff cannot get. That does not make me envious of these people; we can use your train of thought in MANY different aspects to make other people look pathetic as well if what you mentioned was true.

You keep dodging the actual point. Americans are better off here than in Europe or Asia even the most poor. This is typical though, I realize you like to attack people for irrelevant & misconstrued points. I’ll stop replying now so you can move on to the next guy.

They might be interested in visiting, but they’ll be happy to return home when their trip concludes.

The average citizen in Norway probably lives a better life due to their “floor” being much higher than ours. A product of their robust social safety nets, government programs and regulations.

I lived in an advanced Western European nation for 4 years, in a beautiful and richly cultured city. We loved it.

But given a choice between an upper-middle class existence here, and an upper-middle class existence there, I would choose here.

based on a pretty typical words per minute of a professional office worker (70-80wpm) it would have taken him a little more than 2 minutes to type that, 164 words. assuming our doctor friend here is the average office worker.

I know you appreciate brevity, but you are holding a pretty bad standard here for "an actual conversation" taking less than 2 minutes.

ACA healthcare. granted some of that has been "fixed"

it added $6000 of cost because I made less than $5000 too much.

there is a reason whenever people on benefits see an increase to their pay will decrease their hours worked to maintain the benefit threshold. There is a MASSIVE culture of people who play the system to maintain their max benefits. unfortunately I have several extended family members who do this.
