Hopefully Tate works out well for the Titans...

Reese being there and having the highest grade of any player in the draft (according to NFL.com grade) seemed like the pick. Them taking EDGE at the end of the round makes it even more confusing.

Giants, Browns, & Cowboys had a good first night...Washington landing Sonny where they did without having to spend anything to move up is a great pick imo.
I’d be curious how previous years NFL.com draft grades have shaken out

Is this what you’re referencing? Tate is #6 there and Faulk is 16th there and they got him at 31. Based on this, seems pretty damn good to me?

Yeah...I'm also not saying these "experts" that do the grading are the authority on the matter. Just a data point pre-draft that seems to usually lineup with how/when players are drafted.

Mainly the Titans needed EDGE and arguably the best player in the draft who was also an EDGE guy was available to them at 4. Now they did take the highest graded WR in Tate...but I'm sure you're well aware of how badly high drafted WRs have panned out for the Titans.

2022 - Treylon Burks at pick 18 = 3 seasons just 53 caches for 699 yards and 1 TD
2017 - Corey Davis at pick 5 = 4 seasons, 207 catches 2851 yards and 11 TDs
2012 - Kendall Wright at pick 20 = 5 seasons, 280 catches 3244 yards and 18 TDs
2009 - Kenny Britt at pick 30 = 5 seasons, 157 catches 2450 yards and 19 TDs
1998 - Kevin Dyson at pick 16 = 5 seasons, 176 catches 2310 yards and 18 TDs (was first WR taken...Randy Moss still on board...)

Just seems like they've never "hit" with an early WR pick, hopefully Tate changes that.

I wonder if McCoy is one of those players who will go into a free fall this draft and wind up in the 5th round?

Just comes down to what they valued more...

Could have the #1 player at 4 and filled the EDGE need. But no way Tate is available where they got Faulk either.
Yeah I get your point. Just think they are trying to provide Cam with all the weapons possible to succeed.

And then it worked out with Faulk falling a bit. It was rumored they’d be trading back up into the first heading into the draft. Think it turned out well looking at the round as a whole

I will say being able to get back in and still snag Faulk (4th best EDGE in grade of the draft and top 20 as you pointed out) makes me less annoyed.

Yeah if you take the Tate pick in vacuum, it doesn’t look great. Still solid but not great.

Just further proves that Borgonzi likely has his **** together and actually knows what he’s doing. Unlike what we’ve had in previous 3-4 years

I'm trying to be optimistic with the Titans...lol

The good news with Ridley & Robinson on roster Tate doesn't have to feel the pressure to be "the guy" this year. EDGE & WR were needs and both have been addressed.

I think it was "Love > Tate > EDGE" at that 4 spot based on how thing panned out.

Thrilled with Titans DL room

Big Jeff
Franklin-Myers
Jermaine johnson
Keldric Faulk

Nasty nasty and versatile as hell
Agreed here. Glad they have pieces around Simmons. That dude is fun to watch but has felt like the lone, consistent bright spot - at least watching from further away since the Levis pick. They lost me that night (was the final disappointment in a long series of them at that point). I like Saleh and am hopeful they start showing some promise.

Contradictions

There should be a behind the scenes documentary on what freak has to go through to keep VN running smooth.

Not sure if it would be a comedy, like Best in Show, or a thriller like War Games. . .
Intense international thriller when blocking bots. Comedic relief when bouncing posts to the off-topic/political thread. Dystopian sci-fi when it’s revealed that 99 percent of posters are AI and @frank is actually Sally.

Tate was ranked as the 13th pick, 3rd rated player at his position. Hard to believe they made him the #4 overall pick.
Really? It is hard to imagine the Titans making stupid draft decisions? Have you been consistently drunk or in a coma for the past 20 years?
