As we’re seeing in the NIL era, you do need an elite roster. Tennessee just found that out the hard way. Obviously that doesn’t guarantee anything but sure as hell goes a long way. Having an elite roster and getting a 1/2 seed is extremely important if Final Four is the goal as people on this board proclaim.

Going into the tournament, how many people thought we were an elite eight team? The matchups you get in the tournament play a very large factor in that equation, as well.

Oh, I'm not disputing that, at all. I hope we bring in the best roster we possibly can. I just thinking that proclaiming we have no shot if we don't bring in a certain player is a little silly.

BTW besides Diop and Thiam, who are some realistic bigs that are 6’10” or taller that aren’t just tall “stiffs” but can actually move and defend the rim, (plus hit free throws!), we should be looking at? I’d imagine CRB and staff have had a list for a while; hope so. I’m not as knowledgeable on portal prospects as many of you are. Just curious about some names out there that might fit with what roster we’re putting together.
