2026 Vols Transfer Portal Thread

Cg vs sf. So I dont see how
That’s what I was thinking. You could go Hill, Juke, Haralson, Nate, Center. Juke, Nate, Haralson, Ames, and Lundblade can all play multiple positions so there’s still a lot you could do with the lineup. If we find a way to get both of them, definitely the most all around talent we’ve had

Emeka Opurum from Auburn now in the portal.

7'0 205lbs only played in 6 games and then missed the rest of the season with a medical condition. Was emerging quickly as a force for them though.

9.7mpg, 3.8ppg, 2.5rpg, 1.0bpg shooting 76.9% FG
Know we've got needs, but I'd rather steer clear of chronically injured players or those with "medical conditions".

We literally have zero examples of a Barnes team with no good perimeter defenders on it. He’s always had a Mashack, JJJ, Bowden, Turner, Keon, Boswell type of guy on the floor.

You are right it’s probably too late to address it now, I just really don’t like the Lundblade fit. Would have liked to seen that spot used differently. JMO.

Just wondering how you feel about Lundblade's defensive ability.

No clue what it is...could be as simple as the kid was pissed Bruce pulled the wool and then his new Nose of a coach wouldn't let him bail so he basically forced a medical redshirt. Could also be a legit issue...it's strange he opened the season for Auburn playing 14mpg in their first 3 games...then they travelled outta state for that tournament and after St. John's game this all went down.

I think there was a lot of frustration for Estrella personally with what was a very uneven season, from injury to playing time, from mistakes on the court and how Barnes handled his playing time. I feel he became pretty disenfranchised with the whole picture. I also think his parents became less vocal “All Vol” fans.

I had the same feeling around mid-season when JP was getting pulled and dressed down by Barnes for dumb fouls or defensive lapses. You could see the look on his face.

If Nate returns, does that run Juke off or would we be able to sell Juke on them playing together?
It would be a Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown type of situation. They are both threes, but you can move Juke to the two or move Nate to the four. If Nate gets up to 215 or 220, he could be unstoppable at the 4.

From what I’ve been told if Nate and Juke don’t happen it won’t be because of money. We can afford both at the same time. The issue is going to be draft grades.

I just can’t get my hopes up about Nate, but if he did return it would be a bigger coup than Tanner by a mile.

Would you prefer Estrella to Juke? I sure as $h!t wouldn’t. I also disagree on Estrella being the perfect fit, Okpara would be a much better fit, you complain about Lundblade’s defense but then say Estrella is the perfect big to round out a roster that desperately needs an elite defensive big?
I completely agree with you. JP had his moments but he was foul prone and on defense all he mostly did was put his arms up and never try to really contest shots. And as far as perimeter defense he was ok but not great on the smaller guys. But thats usually when he got beat and just jumped into a player when they did go to the basket. He never seemed to grasp or look like he was trying to improve in that area. But i do believe his best is yet to be seen on the offensive end.

I'll just say with Barnes & staff I'd take my chance with taking great athletic offensive players and developing their defensive game. Especially for perimeter guys.

Hill, Ames, Haralson and even Lundblade will all get better defensively as Vols. We have added some raw talent with the HS players too that all have better size/length than the guys they are replacing.

Scott is 6'8"
Washington Jr is 6'9"
Green is 6'6"
Clark is 6'1"

Scott and Washington Jr. are both higher rated than any player on this past roster except for Ament.
Im really excited for what Scott can do in Barnes offense

JP was ranked 16th in the SEC in 2 point shooting % at 60.4%. Felix at 61.1% was the only Vol with a higher % than this.

Can't hit layups is just BS...harp on something that's true if you wanna bash the guy.
But that's not great for a 6'11 guy shooting most of his shots within 5 feet. The NCAA 2pt fg leaders shot in the mid to upper 70s on 2pt fgs and 60.4 doesn't sniff the top 100. Cyril at Georgia shot 76 percent. There were entire teams who shot better than 60.4 percent from 2 this season.
