JP is 6'11" 240I've been a fan, would be a good replacement for an offensive big to help replace JP.
On3 saying vols kicked the tires but not a real player for Freeman which makes sense given current needs for this teamJP is 6'11" 240
Freeman is 6'9" 205
Hopefully, he is not our replacement there in the front court. Need a little bit more size than that
I do like Freeman, nothing against him as a player obviously, just talking from a size standpoint
I believe Tennessee thinks that the 7 footers cost too much. They are taking a different approach.JP is 6'11" 240

It's hard to take anything he says seriously when he's still peddling the Tanner nonsense. The Basilio blog today:
RICK BARNES' PROGRAM ISN'T WOBBLING ... You can say that again ... Tennessee has literally hit on every target so far. I'm operating under the premise that Juke Harris will land later this week with the Vols. As for PG 1 ... We'll see ... Can they get him into the portal? We have a day and a half to see if something will come to fruition. I wouldn't bet on it at this point but even if they fail to get that one home, they've gone just about perfectly so far ... I would think that if UT fails to get home with their PG 1 target they have a few other agents they could call to see if someone would be interested in jumping in.
My belief is UT has somewhere around $7 million on this spot. That's a lot of cheddar ... I give it up to Rick Barnes and this staff ... They've set out with a plan and put themselves in a spot where they're going to have a great portal haul and perhaps an elite team. Love seeing UT teams aggressive in the transfer portal. Use high school players to fill out your team and for speculative reasons. No reason Tennessee teams in revenue generating sports aren't swinging for the fences in the portal. Too much money and interest not to go this route in the modern era. The rules (or no rules if you will) make programs like UT ready made to dominate in any sport where head coaches want to tramp on the peddle. For this reason I salute Rick Barnes who we thought at one time was asleep at the switch recruiting wise. The guy has turned into a stone cold assassin.
The Vols have a bag and PG Christian Anderson of Texas Tech is hitting the portal. Anderson will land in the portal (if he does) as the #1 or #2 player available. The Vols finished #2 for him. So they know him. This counts. High school relationships matter more now than even signing guys. The Vols finished #2 for Juke Harris and he might bounce back. As for Anderson, apparently Tech's money is drying up and they're cutting costs. Anderson (who allegedly wants $6 million) is thought to be headed to Duke who returns two PG's that both played last year plus they have Darron Rippey, the #1 PG in the 2026 high school class. The Vols could either be in play for Anderson or Rippey who the Vols finished #2 for..Sensing a theme here?

If Hill wants to play PG, then I would just let him and use that money to get the best big you canThe Basilio blog today:
