Woman Claimed She Was Detained By ICE For Two Days — But Was Actually At Hotel Getting Spa Treatments: Lawsuit

An Illinois woman who claimed she was detained by ICE for nearly two days was actually relaxing at a hotel getting spa treatments, according to a $1 million defamation suit filed by a county sheriff.

US citizen Sundas “Sunny” Naqvi, 28, gained national attention last month when she and a band of supporters – including Cook County, Ill., Commissioner Kevin Morrison – publicly insisted she was unlawfully detained by ICE officers for roughly 43 hours.

Naqvi claimed that after landing back in the US from a work trip to Turkey on the morning of March 5, she was detained for nearly 30 hours at Chicago O’Hare International Airport, then transferred to another ICE facility in Broadview, Ill., before winding up at Dodge County Jail in Wisconsin.

Surveillance footage shows US citizen Sundas “Sunny” Naqvi, 28, visiting a gas station during the time she claimed to be in unlawful ICE detention.

Morrison, who called the Chicago-area native his “best friend’s sister,” shared questionable screenshots of Naqvi’s location at the Juneau, Wisc., jail on Facebook – and decried the alleged incident during a tense media conference alongside Naqvi’s sister March 8.

Man Accused Of Attacking Conservative Journalist Defrauded Minnesota Unemployment Program

A man who was arrested after being caught on video shoving a conservative journalist to the ground at an anti-ICE riot Saturday was found guilty of defrauding Minnesota’s unemployment program of almost $7,000 more than 20 years ago, court documents show.

Savanah Hernandez, a reporter for Turning Point USA’s “Frontlines,” maintains that Chris Ostroushko along with his wife DeYanna and daughter Paige, attacked her while she was filming the demonstration against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) outside a federal building in Minneapolis. In 2005, Ostroushko was convicted after it was found that he had received thousands of dollars in unemployment benefits when he was actually employed, according to a screenshot of a legal complaint posted to X on Monday by CrimeWatchMpls, an affiliate of Minnesota-based news outlet Alpha News. Ostroushko, who was born in 1975 according to a court document, was in his late 20s at the time the unemployment fraud took place. He ultimately received a stay of execution on his sentencing and was discharged from probation after less than two years, according to the signed document dated March 2007.

Shoving a small woman in the back to the pavement tells you all you need to know. Count him in the growing group of people who need to FAFO with the wrong person and are long overdue

Warriors of the left. Ganging up and assaulting Ms. Hernandez, who is about 5'2" and probably 120#.

They can not control their emotions or have any civil discussion, they have only hate and immediately begin losing their temper because someone doesn't agree with them or have the same point of view. Never understood how they've acquired the "tolerance and understanding" label.

Cool. So the local LEO's are suing someone in their community over lies about ICE. When are they going to sue ICE for lies about the community?

what lies from ICE?

What, you think ICE/DHS hasn't lied at all? If local LEO's are going to file a lawsuit over this, the threshold is extremely low. If I can somehow manage to find a lie more harmful than lying about detention so you can get a 2-day vacation, will you STFU forever?

You clearly again demonstrate that you have no idea of how laws work.

You said "When are they going to sue ICE for lies about the community?" and I asked for an example that they would be sued for and you immediately went to excusing a criminal defaming someone with a clearly proven lie.

You might want to realize during your political crusades that normal people don't believe every BS from either political side to a point that it blinds you to reality

I'm glad they are filing a lawsuit, they should. This woman clearly lied and defamed them to try and grift money off suckers like you

Well, ya look at that. Chandler PD dimed on him to PHX PD because they thought his actions were such poor judgment. That's how he got in trouble.

W for the Chandler police. L for VN police.

Had a run-in with an ICE agent early this morning. I was with a contractor who employs illegals and we saw a guy out in a field behind the contractors shop running. Few seconds later another guy, who we thought was a police officer, chasing the other dude. He got closer and we realized he was an ICE agent. 5 of the contractors employees took off running, somewhat in the same direction as the guy in the field. The officer asked the owner to tell his guys to stop running, that he isn't after workers unless they're criminals. He let's his guys know over the radio and one of his employees tackles the first guy and holds him down until the officer arrests him.

He was being chased and arrested for beating his wife. The ICE officer thanked the owner and his guys and told them to go through the process to become a legal citizen and went on about his way. I know, Cool story bro....

This just keeps getting juicier.

Internal Affairs is diving in on the $336k he made as a sergeant last year, and they found that the top 18 earners in overtime cop pay raked in a combined $5.3m in overtime, and that there wasn't effective oversight. Overtime costs have skyrocketed by 143% in 5 years, probably all going to these guys.
