Prawl in The portal per Andraya Carter

What we are learning with this last group maybe even some of the first group is that you think you want to play her system until you actually play it a few games. Then you start wishing you hadn't signed up to play it at all. It becomes really hard and physically demanding as the season progresses. We looked out of air in so many games by time the second half came around and not able to beat lower talented teams like A&M and Miss St resulted in where we are now.
I wish we could get away from the system either by her being told she will have to change it or if refusing to do so get a different coach.
I admit I got really tired of watching it this season maybe a huge part was losing, but I just grew to hate this style of play.
She says she won’t change it, she apparently knows no other way. She avoids in game coaching/adjustments by constantly subbing. She shows no caring for her players, and no respect for their strengths on the court. There’s more, but it’s all been said. She needs to be replaced.

The system was just never right for this group of players. I think this was more of a half court grind it out group the way we played the first time at Bama and versus Kentucky and Texas. To be effective on offense the way she likes to take the first open shot in the run it up and shoot you need reliable three point shooters and we shot almost 900 threes while making less than 300. She needed a team to get close to 400 makes if shooting 900 which would've effectively raise the offense almost 12 points per game. May not have resulted in anymore wins because of our porous defense, but it is the way her offensive system needs to be played.
400/900 in three point shooting is >44%, which is pretty much impossible. UConn is the best 3-pt shooting team this season, and they are just over 39%.

I don't think it's so much they expected to hit a higher clip compared to what other teams with more traditional offenses would at, but that they would be getting a ton of extra possessions off long rebounds, drawing fouls, getting to the FT line, plus forcing turnovers. The problem is that their turnovers forced and offensive rebounding completely nosedived this year. Combined with having worse shooters compared to last season, there was zero value to be gained from the system, unless you were on the opposing team and needed to practice an unimpeded layup exercise.

I agree with that take as someone who just watched the team with no inside info. Lots of lazy, selfish players who doomed the team. The freshman deserved much much better from grown ass women teammates.

LMAO

Well, “star” or no “star”, none of them looked like 14 losses and a 1st round exit from the Big Dance….

Once you tip the ball all that BS is out the window. Barker hurt this team WAY more than anyone. I t seemed like a few others took her lead. That lead to the 14 loses.

That's what I ( Think ) happened. I seen her brushing off Coaches earlier in the season. They brought her out of the game and was trying to give her instructions and she just waved them off. She could have been the Star of the team more so than Cooper. Had everyone bought in could easily been top 10 Team.
