Well that earlier poll said between 70-80% of NYC residents feel unsafe there, especially on the subway, that seems to be pretty good indication of that issue anyway...

I mean good grief, who wouldn’t be afraid after seeing video of a woman being burned alive on a subway car?????
No matter how “statistically insignificant” that might be; that kind of thing leaves a deep psychological mark on people who take the same transport daily.

No it doesn't lol, we don't determine crime rates by taking surveys of random people around the country. What happened to "facts don't care about your feelings"

Or a plane hit a fire truck at the airport you occasionally use

People just want to complain. They are uncritically arguing in favor of National Enquirer-type tabloid behavior where they know full well the subway is safer, but LOOK HOW BAD!!! The rest of this thread is the same way

Whether it's lack of intelligence or insecurity, OrangeTsar in particular is just going to slurp up whatever says "right is good, left is bad" and as you mentioned, a lot of people bought into right wing propaganda's war on cities

FWIW; Auto accidents often kill instantly. From everything I can gather, being burned alive is a particularly painful and agonizing way to go. It elicits a totally elevated level of fear and dread.
