Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

DT would have to front me 5 shots just to listen to his BS for 18 holes...🫠
I sat next to him back in the mid 90s at a dinner down in Florida at a country club…..he was actually really cool and fun to talk to.

At that time, I only knew he used to own the NJ Generals of the USFL…..

Wish I had a time machine 😳

USFL would've survived a few more seasons if it wasn't for that Clown...

That’s not how the tiebreakers work for the conference tournament tho.

Right now 3 teams tied @ 8-4.

Vols are 1-2 vs the others.
UK is 2-1.
Bama is 1-1.

Vols vs Bama still to play one more time.

But as of right now if no more games played then UK would be better seed vs the other two. Then Bama, then Vols (based on 3-teams tie the seeding is win % vs the other 2 teams).

Unless I’m wrong about the tiebreakers for the conference tournament.
I think the effectual tie-breaker was Bama not forfeiting multiple illegal-player games.

We need to beat that elephant arse until it’s as red as their necks.

I mean, he suffered a freak hip injury that derailed him in both sports.

Part of the risk of playing the game...at some point we have to just look at production > potential

Even before his injury Bo at the professional level hadn't really shown anything to truly label him the "most dominant athlete" ever like some proclaim.

Let them lockout. Players will never budge on their stance. Bryce Harper and Manny Machado already laying the groundwork... I got tired of watching Bulls win every NBA Championship in the 90's but I still tuned in to watch..
Wonder if you’d have the same opinion if we were talking about bama and it was 5 years ago 🤔

We don’t know what kind of football career Bo would have had. But the brief glimpses we got were electric. HOF could have been in the cards - we don’t know.

As far as production goes, he only averaged a little over 100 carries his 4 seasons - there was another HOF tailback there getting the majority of the reps.

What the more interesting question is, imo, is what kind of ballplayer he could have been if he focused on baseball.

There’s not an MLB Scout or GM that would have taken Deion over Bo’s toolset.

Yeah I agree...I think had Bo just focused on baseball he's likely in the HOF and may have some career records to his name.

I just get annoyed how folks nowadays who never even saw him play talk like he was some superhero sort of athlete. Eric Dickerson was the BEST RB in the league for the majority of the 80s, not Bo Jackson.

You guys missed the playoffs last season and that's it.. tons of injuries and still got to .500 I believe it maybe not. Anyway I got you guys getting a WC position this upcoming season with the Mets winning the Division..Phillies are going to take a step back..
The Mets?!?IMG_4659.gif

Baseball is better with more parity to the game. Not one or two teams buying everyone and finding creative ways around the luxury tax, which was supposed to stop one or two teams from buying everyone. Baseball is going to start bleeding viewership more and more if this continues. If your team has no chance, why watch?

And if we see a work stoppage, baseball is really going to suffer. A lot of fans are tired of the BS, IMO.
I dont like the product. Once you finally find a game WAF, they black it out.

No thanks. Minor league for me.

@butchna

Which Vol are you most interested to see at the Combine?

I want to watch McCoy, saying that I just think he runs don't believe he does the drills..

Btw: believe he saves the drills for personal team workouts...

Vols with invites:
Joey Aguilar
Chris Brazzell II
Miles Kitselman
Bryson Eason
Joshua Josephs
Colton Hood
Jermod McCoy

I'm curious to see McCoy as well. I'm also interested in what Brazzell runs and how Miles does.

Not close. What if a QB completed 30% of his passes? He wouldn't be a QB anymore. If a baseball player hits safely 30% of the time he is a hero, 40% he is a god.

Fun fact... baseball HOF has 57 players batting under .200 and 2 players that hit .000 for their career

You can be a HOF baseball player without being able to even hit the ball, that's why as a sport it's not considered the hardest.
