The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

I agree. It's due to Borgonzi and Cam. Coaches know what to expect and will work for Borgonzi and see Cam as the future. Players know what to expect and will play for Saleh and Daboll while knowing they have a real QB to lead the O in Cam.

Things are looking up, fellers.

I guess I forgot but Daboll wanted to trade up for Cam now he gets to coach him.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

…beware the lurking 👀 Texan. I’ve resided in the Houston area since the early eighties. So i’ve paid my NFL penance, many times over. I’ve made fun of the Titans (BESFs) fanbase over the years on social media but most of my angst has been directed at the Adams’ clan. I know there are plenty of good folk cheering them up here. Actually, some down here still are franchise fans.

The last time I really got the red ass was over Amy’s suit when UH went with the Columbia Blue uniforms.

Tillman Fertitta, gotta love the dude!

😂😂 okay your comment about my hatred for AAS being weak makes a lot of sense now.

My ONLY concern with Daboll, and it may be somewhat unfounded, I hope he doesn’t approach Cam Ward as if he is a running QB, because that seems to be where Daboll has had most of his success with QBs. And Cam, while plenty athletic, just isn’t that mold of player. I think he’s more of a Matt Stafford type of QB. Not necessarily a statue, but he’s definitely gonna play the game with his arm.

I’m still hoping we go edge at #4 and then nab a guy like Brazzel in round 2.
I like Brazzell, but not in rd2.
Corner is more of a need there imo……

I’d ride with Ridley and Jennings at #1 and #2.

If Jennings isn’t signed, then maybe a wr in rd2……maybe

Maybe I'm dating myself but I was thinking Steve Young.

Steve Young was more of a runner than Ward IMO. To be clear, I think Ward can, and probably should, use his legs more, just out of sheer efficiency (think along the lines of Mahomes, who is the absolute master of using his legs when that’s all the defense gives him). But he’s not the type of player for whom you would want a bunch of designed runs, and Daboll obviously did a bunch of that between Josh Allen, Daniel Jones, and Jaxson Dart.

While I thought Saleh + McDaniel would be the best combo, getting Daboll and keeping the bald staff trend going is probably better.

To me, this the homerun outcome from this coach cycle. Avoiding a burnt out McCarthy while missing on Harbaugh could have caused this idiotic franchise to mess around and do something stupid.

McDermott's inability to win in the postseason I think is a bigger issue. Would have been fine with him getting hired, but I think Saleh+Daboll is better outcome.

Can’t wait for the bandwagon VN fans to root for Tennessee if this happens

Jennings is likely to make a bag in free agency. I'm so very happy and thrilled with with professional career progression.

Cornbread Pruitt making sure that guy was on the team after Fatty Hoke tried to boot him was best thing he ever did in his 3 year debacle era.

Who do we like in the first? Expecting Bain to be gone.

I’m assuming our options are:

S Downs, Edge/LB Reese, Wr Tate, Edge Bailey, WR Tyson

Of the group Id prefer the first two
Bain is my preference if we stay at 4 and he is there.

If Bain is gone, my preference is to trade down if possible. The Giants and Browns both have needs at OT currently and there are only 2 elite OTs in this draft. And only 1 of them was a primary LT in college. If Fano is taken by Cards as many expect, I could see either the Giants or the Browns feeling the pressure to trade up to select Mauigoa.

If we stay at 4 and Bain is gone, I would take Downs, Reese, or maybe even J-Love, even though I typically against a RB in the top 10. I'm not really interested in anyone else at 4.

I thought Fano was a RT.

Bain very well could be there. Mel Kiper has him falling all the way to 7 in his latest. My dream scenario is Bain/Reese in the first and Brazzell in the 2nd.

Still need further blocking help as well (team still gave up the 6th most sacks - 56 - in the league…after giving up the 5th most in the league (52) the year before in 2024, after giving up the 4th most (64) in 2023, after giving up the 5th most in 2022)

Still also need safety help, probably LB help, wouldn’t be surprised if DE help on the other side is also needed.

Everyone keeps wanting to just score more points, but if Ward is on his back or running for his life for large bulks each game, it’s not going to make a difference…not to mention the worse the blocking stays, the more likely him suffering longer-term or worse injuries become.

I saw Cam Ward kinda like John Elway, how he plays. Not saying that's my comp, but how he handles the backfield and when he takes off reminds me of John Elway a little bit.

I think your concern with Daboll is reasonable. He definitely hasn't succeeded with Indiana Jones (Can I even call him that now? Is he leaving?).

I think you'll take Tate.

I'm hoping the Chiefs get J-Love. Combining him with Eric B. would be a beauty of a combo.

I really hope we take J-Love.
