Yes but Heupel in theory has 2 years with him.

Leavitt has a solid 2026 but not high draft stock could pave way for him to run it back and get paid handsomely over a rookie contract for a non first round pick.

I personally believe of all the portal QB’s l, Leavitt has the highest ceiling while also giving Heupel the longest runway.

Well, college QBs are year to year so multiple years of eligibility doesn't speak to me the way it used to. That aside, you have no concerns with Leavitt? The injury? The rumors about his attitude? You'd roll the dice on this one?

I think the reward on a Leavitt + Heupel pairing far outweighs the risk.

I also trust Heupel (as evidenced with Milton, Nico, Aguilar in 3 consecutive seasons) to tailor the offense around the capacities of the QB.

i also think you are going to see money get bigger and bigger for players until it hits a breaking point where things get regulated like a spending cap. I don’t think we are there yet.

I personally hope we are treating the QB position like Cincy did where there are buyouts if they leave.

That’s not my point. Money is important, I get that, but at some point you also gotta respect yourself. And if you don’t and it is all about the money, I’m good without that guy as our team’s leader.

He’d be foolish to make a decision now while other schools are still pursuing his services. I hate what college football has become, but it is what it is.

Not against players getting paid but the portal time window is in an awful spot on the calendar.

Do you not understand that it’s been widely reported he always planned to take certain visits?
Just because Lane chases teenage girls and tries to meet recruits at an airport does not mean LSU locked him up. If anything Sam’s weirdo meter might have been alarmed when he noticed Lane in front of the security gates holding a sign with his name like an Uber driver.
Last, so someone snapped a pick of them at the basketball game so people have fun and write silly narratives that he was looking at the Wash QB portaler online and Lane told him to leave. If you really think all that is true… we’ll,….NM
