2025/26 Transfer Portal Thread

Probably every highly rated one. What do you expect from someone who models himself after Adam Sandler characters?

Actually most of them were lowly three stars until after I posted them here. Then they all got the Sandman bump because 274 and No3 all take their cues from me in this forum.

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t impressed with Satterwhite this year. But who knows what he might have been with another offseason of development.
Agree. I don’t think he’s a an SEC player. If he was, they wouldn’t have moved Pendleton to center. Wish him well, but not the level we need.

I don’t know the roster numbers but I do wonder with 22 outgoing transfers if at some point we just have to sign some bodies?

That’s not to say we should or that we won’t. Simply thinking out loud.
There certainly comes a point where you just have to choose quantity over quality. Don’t think we’re there quite yet, but 22 is definitely a lot.

Not saying that we reach this point (I’d be surprised if we lose many more), but I feel like if you reach something like 30 transfers, you have to just start taking whoever you can. Sometimes just having a body is better than nothing.

Something is definitely wrong with their prep work and organization. That better change.
You literally have no clue what you're talking about. Our strategy has already been laid out in great detail. We are doing what some of the most successful teams are doing. Not panic buying

Good looking prospects (in addition to those mentioned by reporters), that I would like seeing us kick tires on.

Pretty sure Campbell will be targeted.
Not saying he won't become a target but they think he will be most focused on money versus best football fit.

It also sounds like JK is higher on some of the existing LBs than the Vols fans. This info comes straight from someone at Penn State last year who will be on staff at UT. He specifically said outside of having a year in Knowles system he doesn't think there is much difference between Campbell vs Spillman.

Knowles is excited to come in and teach these LBs and coaches as well. On film JK sees what this person termed as misalignment or a disconnect between the 3 levels of the Vols defense and sometimes even on the same level. There were plays where the way the LBs played something was inexplicable based on the way the DL was attacking/stunting, etc. Saw similar things at times with safeties. It could be all on players not understanding/listening but they beleive alot of it was a combination of poor teaching, communication, & collaboration.

It was expressed that for the most part the existing guys the staff most want here on defense are staying. They will add prices with DL & DB being main focus, but they don't think the defense talent wise was as bad as it looked especially at the LB spot
