We really need a QB that can run too. If it's true that a donor is putting up big money just for a QB that's separate from the other additions, then we definitely go big. No clue how true it is, but also a few reliable ones say we will spend more this year in the portal than the last few combined. Apparently, the ass beating we took from Vandy woke up a few wallets. Guess we will see in 10 days how true that is.

I'd really like to see CJH start getting QB's on NFL rosters. Teams will use that against us when it comes to recruiting. Having a good college season is nice, but if he's not getting QB's drafted and playing in the NFL, not sure how much a good college season helps bring in elite QB's. Eventually some of his QB's need to start having some NFL success. That greatly improves our QB recruiting.

His arm strength is not below average at all lol. JA has a higher football IQ than Hendon. He'll at worst be on a practice squad I think.

Heupel asked JA to do a lot more than he did with Hooker.

Nakos had a top prospects in portal update this morning:

Sorbsy= all the buzz is around TT
Hoover= all the buzz is around Indiana
Chaz Coleman = all the buzz is around Ohio State

Sucks about the QBs, we need to prepare for a group of 5 QB which is obviously disappointing. I just hope we spend big on the secondary and DT if we dont get a top QB

The lack of arm strength is a myth. He threw some lasers on a rope 40-50 yards in the air plenty of times. Throws that didn’t get 20 feet in the air.
Inaccuracy issues at times are real when he doesn’t get his feet set on quick throws, but plenty of arm for slants, posts, comebacks, fades, ins, outs, etc, all the route tree routes people always talk about. Arm is better than Minshews for example and he’s been in the league for years.
Getting the ball out early and throwing WRs open and seeing windows others don’t see is more important than being able to throw it 70mph or 70 yards.

I'm not sure NE really gave Mayo a lot of latitude on draft choices, especially offensive ones.

Frankly, Mayo jumping from position coach to NFL HC was a head scratcher for such an organized, winning organization. His entire coaching career, prior to landing that gig, was comprised of 5 years as an inside LBs coach.

Additionally, the Cowboys gave up a 5th rd pick for Milton, so the NFL clearly still values his natural talent.
