Exactly. That’s all I’ve been saying.

People are so afraid to see him walk because he’s a 5 star that actually produced in year 2.

Staley had Big Games against OU, UGA, Bama.
Matthews ate against ETSU, Kentucky…

Yes. Keep both but also be upfront about who deserves what.

We can’t just give up on every young player that drops a pass. This is not the NFL. They’re allowed to get better year to year.

You’re right.
Full disclosure: I’ve been following him since HS and he had a problem then. Hands.

He was much much better safety imo.
Put it like this UGA let Bolden commit to FSU because they thought they were getting Mike as their safety. Mike commits to UT, the UGA throws the house at Bolden.
He was an All-American as a sophomore at safety for UGA this season….
And yes I STILL think Mike would be a better safety if he committed to that.

So theres some frustration on my part because I’ve seen guys take my advice and become millionaires in the NFL. Mike is so athletic and instinctual at safety- not to mention fast- you could plug him in during a game next season with no prep, no practice and he would be the highest grades safety after the game was done.
But, it’s his free will and choice to want to become a great WR. He has the physical talent, but his focus needs to get better. That’s all catching is. Focus.

Heupel and UT need to go the OU route. They had a bad year, cleaned up some staff on the offensive side, and spent big in the portal. They would not stand for being mediocre. And I don’t think Venebles is a good coach, but they have a loaded roster. I’m just not sure Heupel is made of the same...

Not sure where he ends up, but I'm not sure if a major program will see enough on film to grab him. Not saying he will end up at a G5 program, but it wouldn't surprise me. Guys like Lewis would have been a great candidate for a move to LB under Fulmer.
