For all of these worried about next year's game against GT can rest a little easier. Haynes King is gone and their backup QB Philo just entered the portal. UT just needs to find a QB and keep rolling. They are bringing some much back on offense they should hit the ground running next year. It will be the best returning O-line they've had in CJH's tenure. They also will be loaded in all the other positions.

The worried about GT fans is a fractional %

Yes it is the usual suspects, I'm certainly not one of them.
We can't take them lightly and go in there overconfident. We will be their biggest game of the year. They will throw everything including the kitchen sink at us. That being said, I think we will go in there focused on a mission

We will most assuredly not be their biggest game of the year. They have an in state rivalry that literally has its own name.

Ok. Our game with them will set the tone for their season as to whether or not they can be a serious contender in the ACC. They will need to beat us to have any chance that the Georgia game could possibly get them into the playoffs

Yeah, don’t forget how that worked out with us and our QB situation last year. It actually bettered us.

Really looking forward to it. My first road game trip was 71 years ago when we went to the 54 Tech game in Atlanta. Was Harvey Robinsons last year and Bobby Dodd was at the top of his game, they beat us 28-7 I believe and it wasnt really that close.

Hope Tech wears their gold britches, white jerseys and gold helmets, the Classic uniform

P.S. We lived in Chattanooga and had relatives in Knoxville and Atlanta so the Tech game was a staple for us.

Hard to believe but at one time I hated Tech more than Alabama.

Did we play them two years later in Atlanta in 56 as well? My Dad told me a story about Johnny landing 3 punts inside the 10 and I thought it was in Atlanta.

The biggest game on GA Tech's schedule will always be georgia.....but the TN game will be huge.
There was talk about moving it to Mercedes Benz, which Tech people were against, but it will be played at Bobby Dodd.

I am glad they are playing at Dodd. Will bring back memories of the 1972 Vols opening up the season there and kicking their asses. Condredge Holloway's first game

So glad it’s staying. One of the most underrated venues in football.

I told people months ago that Philo could be a problem. Definitely a positive for us that he is moving along.

We would have beaten them with him. It wouldn’t have mattered.
Easy for you to say now. I think we would have beaten them also (as I said months ago when this was discussed) but like I said then Philo was not some scrub, as evidenced by the fact that Florida wants him.

Well, GT can dip into the portal for a QB as well, no? Wouldn't count them out just yet. We've still got a lot of work to do in the portal ourselves.
