The Gulf does not touch South America. It’s only surrounded by the US, Mexico, and technically Cuba to the east. The Caribbean is to the south. I don’t really care what it’s called, but it was first cited on a map as the Gulf of Mexico in the mid 1500’s. You had to cross it to get to Mexico. The name America dates back to the early 1500’s as well but first referred to South America after Amerigo Vespucci’s voyages. Not political, but the ‘Gulf of America’ makes complete sense. It’s an ocean surrounded by *checks notes* north and South America, the name makes perfect sense, it’s not named after squarely the US
My screenshot was from Google Maps as well. I zoomed in and it still says Gulf of America. Maybe Google checks where you are and changes it?View attachment 797184

Maybe Google pisses red, white, and blue?My screenshot was from Google Maps as well. I zoomed in and it still says Gulf of America. Maybe Google checks where you are and changes it?

I would be on whatever side you weren't on.So you would have fought for the British if you were alive 250 years ago?
Well, I know not what course others may take, but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!
I am a patriot. So I guess you're a communist like Jack.I would be on whatever side you weren't on.
By the way, I meant to snap a picture, but I saw you at Lowe's last week when I went to get firewood. Big Yeti, right up front. Looked just like you. Didn't know what you were doing down here in Georgia, but I should've said hello.
What's wrong with Gulf of America? You have something against America?Imagine thinking the president gets to just declare different names for things willy-nilly. Couldn't be me. I'm a patriot who doesn't believe in kings or monarchical declarations.
