I think the TV networks, Birmingham, and Indianapolis needed votes from the lesser P4s and especially from the G5s (the majority) for the NCAA vote.Should have been 6 or 8 teams not 12 imo.
Which is why the committee had to keep the team that lost in the championship game of the toughest conference in the playoffs. You simply can’t reward teams for sitting on the couch. They actually got it right as the real debate was always between Miami or Notre Dame if Virginia lost to Duke. Both teams were 10-2 and Miami won the head to head. Pretty simple actually.Basically what this year showed is “being 3rd in conference is best”
A&M rewarded, Miami rewarded, Oregon rewarded…
I think hosting the first round is better than a bye
Yeah, I was yelling at my TV on that one.Deserved two TDs but they subbed Ollie Gordon in late. Wright deserves more touches than Gordon.
If UVA wins, Notre Dame is in.I will say that Notre Dame does have a point about the week to week rankings and giving the players false hope.
If the early season losses put a ceiling on their season's potential and playoff hopes, they should have been ranked accordingly.
ESPN and the committee were just ranking people all over the place to drive engagement. ND doesn't belong to be in, but they also didn't deserve to be used as a prop.
The week to week thing only benefits ESPN and it should just be a final ranking/show.
Look at that schedule next year. They stand a real chance of being undefeated.I will say that Notre Dame does have a point about the week to week rankings and giving the players false hope.

ND gets by with having their cake and eating it too. They conduct themselves as if they are the smartest program and the only ones that thought to do things the way that they did. For that, they do deserve negative consequences that other teams put up with conferences to avoid. If UVA wins, Notre Dame is in.
Pure politics. They weren't leaving the ACC out completely.
Honestly, there is so much BS that comes with conference obligations. I don't care if ND gets the short end of the stick for being independent for once.
