Just make it a 24 team playoff like the FCS and eliminate bowl games. If you can't make the 24, them you don't deserve a post season.

Not necessarily. We may be targeting an assistant on a postseason team. We can give him plenty of time to find his own landing spot before we hire someone.

Now if there's no smoke by the semifinals or finals then I'd be concerned.

Not accepting a bowl game is absolutely stupid. It is free practice for the team that you don’t get if you’re not bowl bound.

if they opt out, they will get extra practices in the spring than a team that does not opt out of playing in a bowl, right?
