Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

JMO, but Ohio State should drop to 4. Indiana at 1, Georgia at 2, and Texas Tech at 3. Georgia and Texas Tech won their last games, Ohio State did not.

4-8 should be Oregon, Ole Miss, TAMU, and Oklahoma in some order.

9-12 should be Notre Dame, Miami, Tulane, and James Madison.

At 3 losses, Bama should justifiably be out. They have a bad loss to FSU and were blown out in the CG. If they get in, it's politics, not earned. The only teams that have a real argument over Miami are Vandy and possibly Utah, also both with just 2 losses. Again, this is all jmo, but 3 losses should put you out.

And, FTR, I think automatic qualifiers are stupid. Tulane and James Madison are only in because of it. They shouldn't be.

I also think the ACC should fix their conference. Stop with divisions and just have the two best teams play for the conference championship. It should have been Miami and UVA. Duke winning was fun, but they didn't deserve the spot to begin with IMO.

There are a lot of simple things that could be done to help fix the whole playoff mess, but politics prevent that from happening. Politics, IMO, are hurting the game.
Acc doesnt have divisions

I think the PWO kids are going to lose their spots to portal players.

Tough sell isn't that? I mean, aren't most kids portaling for more playing time? Hard to convince a kid to leave one school to come to us and be the 103 player on the roster.

Seems it would be a lot easier to convince a low rated three star kid to come to Tennessee and try to develop in an SEC program for a year or two and see what happens.

I feel like these playoff expansions are slowly watering down the regular season. We will see top teams playing the backups the final week before too long and having no concern whether they get in to the conference championship game.
This has been said since 2014.

The expasion has actually kept more guys playing through the season. Tons of teams still with hopes vs just 2-4.

There's already no benefit to playing in a c'ship game.

Bama and UGA could wind up playing 3 times this season.

how many times do teams need to play each other before we figure out which one is better?

IU and OSU, ND Miami, ND aTm...OR IU...OM UGA....

These are all games that have been played and might get replayed.

There's no benefit to playing an extra c'ship game. There might be a consequence of you lose it thought... And there's no consequence to losing a big regular season game. Very little consequence to a bad loss, if you have the right brand name...

The acc commissioner has to be pulling his hair out this morning.

And the committee has to go. And so does the automatic qualifers. I'm sorry.. But James Madison isn't one of the top 12 or even 16 teams. Here's who should be in
IU
UGA
OSU
TTU

OM
ORE
aTm
OU

MIA
BAMA
ND
VANDY
