If Miami isn’t in, then the ACC divisions cost them a CFP SpotJMO, but Ohio State should drop to 4. Indiana at 1, Georgia at 2, and Texas Tech at 3. Georgia and Texas Tech won their last games, Ohio State did not.
4-8 should be Oregon, Ole Miss, TAMU, and Oklahoma in some order.
9-12 should be Notre Dame, Miami, Tulane, and James Madison.
At 3 losses, Bama should justifiably be out. They have a bad loss to FSU and were blown out in the CG. If they get in, it's politics, not earned. The only teams that have a real argument over Miami are Vandy and possibly Utah, also both with just 2 losses. Again, this is all jmo, but 3 losses should put you out.
And, FTR, I think automatic qualifiers are stupid. Tulane and James Madison are only in because of it. They shouldn't be.
I also think the ACC should fix their conference. Stop with divisions and just have the two best teams play for the conference championship. It should have been Miami and UVA. Duke winning was fun, but they didn't deserve the spot to begin with IMO.
There are a lot of simple things that could be done to help fix the whole playoff mess, but politics prevent that from happening. Politics, IMO, are hurting the game.
Never satisfy me until we do away with AQ. Got to top ## and not top ## by W-L beauty pageant and pansy conference records…. And if you ain’t in a conference then you are not eligibleYea something needs to be done. James Madison and Tulane are not 2 of the best 12 teams in the country. If you want to reward them, have them schedule better out of conference competition, win those games, and be ranked high enough to get an at-large bid.
I think Bama gets in, shouldn't, but you can make an argument for it.
Ultimately, they will expand to 16 teams which should satisfy most people.
They were penalized after the conference championship game bc the backup QB looked like ****. So the conference championship impacted their playoff selection despite winning and the “paid shills” argued for that to occur. Now they’re saying don’t penalize Bama for losing today even though they also looked very bad and lost. If FSU can win their conference championship and have their playoff resume impacted negatively, then surely Alabama can have theirs negatively impacted in a loss. The precedent has already been set. (Looking at your McElroy)
Spot on take. Bama should be out. There‘s zero argument for them at 3 losses, as you mentioned. Plus, Miami has the head to head against ND, Bam doesn’t have a head to head against any current playoff team since their win against UGA was negated by the SECCG.JMO, but Ohio State should drop to 4. Indiana at 1, Georgia at 2, and Texas Tech at 3. Georgia and Texas Tech won their last games, Ohio State did not.

First legitimate reason I’ve heard. Pure hatred of the gumps. Much respect. Now back to the mental gymnastics by those trying to convince us it’s something else. I personally hope they leave them out also. I hate the whole state of Alabama.I'm a Tennessee fan and I think they should be left out. Not seeing the comedy. They're dirty rotten inbred cheaters. They deserve nothing. I hope they get left out so I can see their fans gnash and wail. It will make me, as a Tennessee fan, extremely happy.
Posting this again. Gruden has the solution to this mess, IMO.
You could be correct. I watched the Big Ten every week and the conference looked extremely weak. I wasn't impressed at all.UGA needed OT to beat us , beat UF by 4 ,
Needed to team up with the refs to beat Auburn, beat GA tech by 7.
Point: cherry picking
The above doesn’t make UGA look so great
And I’d be confident that IU could do better against each of those teams.
But UGA is probably a top 5 team.
So is Indiana. Not likely losing 2-3 sec games.
