Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Beat Boise State (conference champion), beat Pitt, beat Navy, & beat USC…all 8 or better win teams.

Bama has only beaten 4 8 win teams, and one of them just beat them by 3 scores to give them their 3rd loss.

FSU beating Bama has to matter too if that 0-2 start is going to punish ND
ND would have a minimum of 2 losses in SEC alone if they were in SEC, not Impressed with those 8 win teams.

I don’t care about either- hope they both get left out. But 8 wins at Boise, Navy, and Pitt aren’t same. Bama has wins over two 10 win teams at the P4 level. I just can’t favor ND with that schedule. It was soft.

This is a +20-win team imo. His first two seasons was a combined 31 wins. 2019/2020 was 17-14. I don't see this team as comparable to how bad those 3 teams were. Those teams could play their best game and it wasn't enough to beat most teams. We've seen the potential of this team already, they just have to figure out consistency and chemistry which takes time.
I'll concede those early teams, this team is high in potential but just isn't putting the math together.

Maybe they do, but this is as ugly as I've seen in the recent Barnes era here once he built on his brand.

We've seen this team completely implode under physical play, especially after their early exposition game which they looked better in.

I'll go along with almost everything you've said, but I can't get past this team showing no elite traits Save rebounding in big games. The defense isn't very good, the offense is really no better. I see no identity, and that's not a good sign at all.

Talk me off the ledge, I want to believe....... And I realize this team is young with almost all new pieces but I'm watching and waiting for it to look like something but it just isn't.

Is Barnes as perplexed as we are? I feel like he might be searching for answers as well. I think he needs to play big inside with Carey and Okpara and feed it and let Gillespie and Ament play off that. But As I say over and over Rick Barnes has forgotten more ball than than this Barnes will even know.

Only Top 5 player that lived up to the hype and exceeded it was Eric Berry. He could have been drafted out of high school.

I hope Faizon and Keys are the real deal, but we’ve been burned so many times with these top recruits.
Wasnt Michael Munoz a 5 star? Justin Hunter, Meachem, Peyton Manning, JT Mapu, Gerald Riggs Jr, Jesse Mahelona, KMac, Davis Anders Jr, Darnell Wright, Jawuan James. Was Juan Jennings a 5 Star? Trey Smith?

SEC bias is the weirdest thing.

Bama got absolutely **** kicked twice this year, one was to a 5-7 team. They with 3 losses shouldn’t be in the playoffs.

If the debate is OU or Vandy over ND then I can see it a lot more.

But Miami & Bama imo are the 2 weakest teams being discussed for at large bids.
