It would set a bad precedent to penalize a team that loses a conference title game that would’ve otherwise made the playoff.

But…Alabama probably drops to the last at-large team in and is playing a road game in College Station or Oxford.

Either the outcome of the conference championships should matter or they need to do away with them. Can’t just use them to award a bump up for the winner but not penalize the loser, especially if they get spanked like a scalded elephant.

I think the rules should be if Tennessee is in the game you won’t be penalized but if Alabama loses it should count double. Only seems fair. Reality is if Texas A&M holds the tie breaker instead of stupid Alabama they are on the couch and safely in the playoffs. I hate Bama with a burning passion but if we were in Alabamas position and got left out for getting beat in the SEC championship I would not watch another game. With that being said I hope the committee leaves them out as that will make my weekend. They are getting totally destroyed. I don’t think Alabama is a serious contender anyway. I think OSU and Georgia are probably the 2 best teams but I hope they both lose.

The SEC championship game generates around 50 million annualy for the SEC.

I am old school but I still greatly value an SEC championship. As hard to win as a national championship. I wish our Vols could win one again.

A 3 loss Bama team who lost in embarrassing fashion to a terrible FSU team and then got smoked in their conference championship game does not deserve to be in the CFP. I don’t care if the loss to FSU was in week 1. Any other team would’ve been punished for that.

This Alabama game is precisely why I said I would pick Aguilar over ty Simpson. When ty gets hit, he gets scared. Joey never lost his gunslinger mentality even if he got lit up

Can't stand Kirby Smart, but credit where it's due...he's a fired up aggressive guy that gets his guys playing fired up and aggressive. Heupel, Halzle, and Banks are all really laid back guys. If they move on from Banks, I hope the new DC has an edge to him that rubs off on our defensive players.
