'26 TX ATH Legend Bey

Close to the worst D in SEC but not worst.

I don’t think waiting on a kid to make up his mind will have any bearing on how we do vs Vandy next year.

Everybody has a crazy hard schedule next year.

Not wholly true. Yes relationships were important. Largely, Cooper got injured. And how he was handled turned Peyton and Archie off. Also, Archie sat back and let Peyton make his own decision. But id say after Cut and Phil, those two, showed Arch and Peyton their plan. It was done.

Dont forget that there was another ballyhooed freshman recruit, Todd Helton, and Brandon Stewart. Bringing in those receivers was huge.

Remember Phil was on every teams short list of HCs back then. He was the best recruiter.
Cooper was recruited as a WR to Ole Miss and was diagnosed with Spinal Stenosis before the season even started.

The Manning family have always stayed close to Cut even when Cut went to Duke, Cut became the coach of Peyton's Rehab program.

Ole Miss did not mishandle Cooper he was diagnosed after practice. I don't think he played a down at Ole Miss because the diagnoses came in practices before the season.

As we know, Todd Helton was a great baseball player and not the solution.
Brandon Stewart was a great QB and of course his defeat of beating Kansas ST to ensure Tennessee went to the first BCS bowl championship..

A lot of twists and turns in this assessment and all a matter of opinion I would say. No need to dig into it deeper because it will just get more opinionated. One, Ole Miss mishandling it was a recruiting tool and they IMO did not because it was caught in practice.

#1 - Your statements about Cooper being injured and how Ole Miss handled it poorly (upsetting Peyton and Archie) are wrong.

#2 - How are we talking about Peyton Manning's recruitment in the Legend Bey thread?

It should be obvious that how we handle #2 will impact our future recruitment of Legend's third cousin, twice removed, Myth Estuary. Also, how we handle #2 could determine how dirty our hands are and what they smell like.

Yeah..look I love this kid as a player.
But there's RED FLAGS galore.
He AND his family are weird.

Seriously if he's fabricating a whole tale or if he's telling the truth it's damn weird.

And this is a potential cancer. We need a focused BOUGHT in, and physical football team!

I’m sorry. So I’m supposed to believe that Heupel and company saw no issues with just mom and not the recruit showing up to Knoxville? And then agreed to this huge flip without ever talking to the kid prior to the paperwork coming in? So what, they’re just twiddling their thumbs on signing day and all of a sudden “Holy ****, it’s legend’s paperwork!”? I may question some decision making by Heupel, but there’s no way he and his staff are this f-ing stupid.

Give me a break. This is either fake news or really shoddy journalism on rival’s part.

Don’t they have ceremonies and all sorts of hullabaloo for a recruit of his (alleged) level of talent?
What did he do? Sign the air?
I bet they forged the document 🤯

What if, hear me out, they had “Ohio State” on the top in fake ink. Then, when he signed, they wiped it off and put it “Tennessee”!

“Horrible situation.”

Hey Ohio State people, even if all
this is 100% true, it’s not that bad. If OSU is where he wants to be, he’ll end up there. And either way, he’s gonna play a sport, get a great education and make a bunch of money in the process.

Stop acting like this on the brink of tragedy.

It's heartbreaking.

NIL is what has caused players to hit the portal year over year seeking more money. Ironically, it will be NIL that will contractually keep kids from transferring because if “breach of contract.”

You are already seeing the start of this with UGA but I’m sure contracts will be standard and have a timeline in there

For a very public situation like we have here, why haven’t authorities gotten involved.. if any of this is true (rivals video) then this would seem like a kid who is in danger. But who knows maybe not 🤔
