OldTimer’s Dugout - Off Topic Thread

Damn guys, I got my heart broken last night.
I had to bury the family dog.
This morning was hard, she would always come see me and love on me, every morning before I would leave the house.
They become a beloved part of the family. I know what it’s like when you lose a pet. There’s a huge hole left in your heart. Sorry for your loss.

James is accepting his reality.

He should be sleeping pretty well now. I read in The Athletic yesterday that most of the guys who he had gotten to commit to Penn State signed with Virginia Tech who had their best ranked class in years.

Penn State, on the other hand, had a grand total of two people sign on signing day. It’s recruiting class was ranked in 150, literally behind West Georgia university.

Doesn't make any sense since in 3 weeks he turns 18 and could just sign with Ohio State regardless of what anyone in his family wants to do.

Did they hold a gun to his head and make him sign with the Vols or something? Just a bizarre situation.

Hopefully works out for him whatever he decides.
Possible that they signed for him and against his wishes?

So sorry for your loss. It's the purest of loves...a dogs love. Hurts to say goodbye, but it's the price we pay for years of the love they give us. Keep the memories.

Sorry for loss. I'm sure your boys have taken it hard.
Very hard, my wife too!
I’ve cried very few times as an adult. The birth of my children, when my papaw passed away and after our football and baseball national championships.
I cried like a baby as I was carrying her home.
Today has been terrible!

It feels good to talk to you guys about it though.
It’s probably annoying but thanks for letting me get it out.
Not at all. This was the last photo of my little buddy before we took him to the vet in January. I miss that little dude.

My wife wanted another dog. I said my heart wasn’t ready yet. We did get another dog. God new what my heart needed.IMG_1683.jpegIMG_2833.jpeg
