Idk how you expect 17-18 year olds to look but it takes a couple of years for them to fill out their frame straight out of high school. There is a reason most SEC DL are upperclassmen with sophomores sprinkled in. It’s rare to have a freshman come in and get playing time on the line. If he is going to be an edge rusher then 280lbs is fine. If he is going to be on the interior then he probably will redshirt and start playing his sophomore year once he gets closer to that 300lb range. Anyone expecting any freshman to just come in and get impactful snaps on the line is fooling themselves. Only the elite of the elite pull that off.
