My total guess with zero knowledge whatsoever prediction is Banks returns as DC (if not hired somewhere else), the defense is simplified, we add via portal, and we field a top 25 defense next season

If LSU were to fire Kiffin, he would be owed 80% of his remaining contract. That's 72 million right now and will drop as he's paid his yearly salary.

It's a DUMB contract to give any coach.

They only did it based on a verbal agreement that USC is on the only school he'd leave them for.

It’s insane to me how many players spoke about the holes in our defense and then proceeded to abuse our defense over and over.

My bigger issue is the secondary specifically needs a change.

2026 class our highest rated secondary player is Zay Anderson 4 star and outside top 200 players
2025 class our highest rated secondary player was Tre Poteat 4 star and outside top 400 players
2024 class our highest rated secondary player was Boo Carter 4 star and just inside top 150 players


If they need more mature/experienced guys in the portal back there so be it...but focus effort on landing more of those guys then.

Bama has 3 top 50 players that are all secondary guys
Georgia has a top 100 player that's a secondary guy, but last class had 3 top 200 players all in the secondary
A&M has 3 top 225 players that are all secondary guys, and had 3 last class in the top 150 all in the secondary

So the teams we're chasing are emphasizing high rated secondary players and we've had one in 5 years and he was a bust.
