What is dumb as hell is saying someone with almost two years of development can’t lead this program. In fall camp, George out performed everyone and the goal was to put weight on him during the year to potentially start if Joey didn’t work. He was a true freshmen this year and outperformed everyone in camp. He's the only person I've heard say that and he used to not say that about Joey
I'd rather rock with Joey again over GMac or a true freshman. Wanting to trust a freshman next year is dumb as hell.
Actually I'm with you on this GM should be QB1 next season but most are wanting Aguilar back, to each their own. What's cute is some fans don't think GM can take over but are slobbering over Brandon to be QB 1 straight out of high school... I remember a QB that fans slobbered over straight out of high school recently, what happened to him? What is dumb as hell is saying someone with almost two years of development can’t lead this program. Know what you’re talking about before saying sowmtbing is dumb. Some of the best QBs played their redshirt freshmen year and balled out. Remember a guy named Manzel?
8-4 with thisUnpopular opinion here potentially:
The complete meltdown from our fanbase after every loss (in any sport really) is getting ridiculous.
I had a couple Auburn buddies text me last night talking about how they would’ve given anything to have had the type of year we just had. Our QB got here 6 months ago and our 2 starting CBs didn’t play a single snap together on the field
I think CFB fans as a whole are really going to have to start recalibrating their thinking on records every year. It’s getting more and more like the NFL every year (in the SEC at least). I’ll take 8-4 as our floor every day of the week
Matthews has some things to work on but he is a talent and has shown some big flashes at times. He just needs to get keep working hard at his craft. Everybody does this is a very young team. Half the team is freshman and sophomores and only 14 seniors. Our staff and players all got plenty to work on. This team has to mature and get more disciplined and stronger as a whole. Their mental toughness needs to be challenged. We have to become a tougher team, you got to hit you got to push hard. You have to have a killer instinct and that goes for coaches too. The staff has got to have the killer instinct as well. You can’t quit calling plays and letting up when you’re ahead. The players have to focus and take out teams when they are down, not let up and let them back in it. Tennessee fans want a tough aggressive team that attacks on both sides of the ball and wins at the LOS. The staffs and teams that can bond toughness and the hunger to win will win. Teams not willing to put in the work won’t win. Heupel and staff have to get the energy and fire into this program. Emotion is a part of the game, of course you want to be disciplined and smart and focused. But you can’t play and coach like robots either. Play like your at war, coach like your at war, and don’t be worrying about letting up on a opponent. Laxness is anti football, if you don’t practice hitting you won’t be good at it on saturdays. If your going to play this game play it all out or don’t play. Got to work hard at getting bigger and stronger. If your going to coach it coach it to win and beat your opponent as convincingly as you can. GBO! I’ve vented enough! Still VFL, but I hope Heupel is seeing that some things have to be addressed. I want to see him continue on here, he has some good qualities but he has to realize he is in a vulture conference and the team needs to develop the toughness that is required and start playing with the fire and passion that matches that of this great fan base. I will say I expected 9-3 or 10-2 but that was before Gibson got hurt and it appeared McCoy would return at some point. Still, I think this team should have won at least 9 personally. But it wasn’t a total loss of a season. We had a lot of young players play and it will pay off in the long run. There are many players on this team that should improve greatly by next season. Our recruiting class coming in looks strong and 27 looks good early. With our core team being young is now the time led by some of this years juniors for this group to bond together on the mission of making next year there year. But everybody involved needs to realize they all have to get better if they want to win championships. I do think we will be a better team overall next year. We really need Mac and Faizon to be ready to work and attack this system and become leaders fast. Next year is the hour Heupel and this team needs to start showing the strides we are all wanting and expecting to see. GBO! Whew I’m done for now! VFL!

I have a feeling ll that Lane kiffin will fail at LSU
I don't get to caught up into the next years schedule debate. More issues will arise for all teams especially with this porthole opening up soon. Plus PSU maybe waiting on Alabama season to end to try to poach DeBoer.8-4 with thisschedule just take a look at next years schedule… Vs Texas… Vs LSU… Vs Auburn… Vs Alabama… At Vanderbilt… At Georgia Tech… At Texas A&M…
Its going to be tough next season, I dont think the fanbase can take it. I think hes a good coach, but hes gotta make some serious moves. The entire defensive position coaches need to go. Idk about Banks, we have improved every season until this one. He also has to make serious moves in the portal. With all the coaching changes going on in the sec, we should be digging in the portal hard.8-4 with thisschedule just take a look at next years schedule… Vs Texas… Vs LSU… Vs Auburn… Vs Alabama… At Vanderbilt… At Georgia Tech… At Texas A&M…
I get the sentiment, but I’m less concerned about the record and more concerned that we witnessed some things this season that makes me wonder if 8-4 might not be the floor.Unpopular opinion here potentially:

Love Joey and all his yards and beautiful deep balls, but he still struggled with intermediate passes and turnovers. He likely cost us the OU and Bama games this year. But he also won us Mississippi state and other games. Good QB, but George can be elite. He is effortless with throwing the ball and at his height, he can see the field so well. Plus, he is a decent runner at his size. A better runner than Joey. People are scared of the unknown but you don’t pay these guys to sit.Actually I'm with you on this GM should be QB1 next season but most are wanting Aguilar back, to each their own. Plus GM didn't come to Tennessee to stand on sidelines for 2 years. This isn't 1980 anymore, these kids want to play.Love Joey and all his yards and beautiful deep balls, but he still struggled with intermediate passes and turnovers.
