Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Anyone saying Mike needs to transfer don't know ball. You seen him drop a couple bad passes, sure? Did you see the impactful blocking, his route running, how he is as a teammate, his potential in this offense, some nasty catches he did have? You want him gone? That's about stupid. Our recruits should be allowed to have human mistakes without us calling for his head and making these kids feel like they're not wanted here.

I understand Boo's situation bc of his personality & his decisions during the season.

Lift Mike up, he doesn't deserve to be shunned and hope that he transfers. He is a good player and will be for another team if you push him away.
I def do not know ball and we need to keep him

VQ has been talking about it all year. If the right coach was hired at Auburn he would go back. His wife is in Auburn. Almost went back when Freeze was hired. Hes close to retirement.
Please don’t quote me but I sure I read were there was a death in the family and we was needed back in Alabama.

Your point is fair on him demanding he coach but I have seen other reports where Ole Miss told the staff to make decisions on going or staying before Kiffin said he was taking them so we will have to wait for truth.

BUT

The schools are the ones creating this mess by 1) not forcing NCAA to change the coaching change rules to be like NFL 2) the schools firing their coaches half way through the season and trying to hire new ones are more to blame than Lane in this situation from my perspective. He did not create this situation, LSU did.
I don’t blame OM for demanding decisions either. You don’t want to be there then you need to go ahead and go. The hiring schools obviously want coaches in place for the recruiting and portal periods. Ironically, Lane leaving UT the first week in January was just terrible timing for hiring purposes.

Ole Miss solved their problem. Now give him the resources to get the job done and never look back.

Say there is smoke to Heupel and Penn St., where dos Danny White go? I do think the job is way more attractive now than 2021.
He would be screwed this cycle. We are way behind the curve now. Would almost be the equivalent of 2010 and we would be better served rolling with an interim unless he could pull a rabbit out of his hat and poach an established coach somewhere.

We are arguably the most attractive market out there among -theoretically- open jobs, including auburn and florida, only lsu would be better imo, id say we could have several big names lined up

We didnt fire pruitt until mid January

Is this true?

Every game I go to, the fans complain about Heupel all game long. Every damn time we run the ball people lose their ****. The heupel complaints are endless the last few games I've gone to.
I have a guy by me that has had tickets for 40 years and complains about everything the entire time. It seems like a FF guy who seems like a troll but this guy is a real fan. Also, his football IQ is close to zero.
