Anyone saying Mike needs to transfer don't know ball. You seen him drop a couple bad passes, sure? Did you see the impactful blocking, his route running, how he is as a teammate, his potential in this offense, some nasty catches he did have? You want him gone? That's about stupid. Our recruits should be allowed to have human mistakes without us calling for his head and making these kids feel like they're not wanted here.

I understand Boo's situation bc of his personality & his decisions during the season.

Lift Mike up, he doesn't deserve to be shunned and hope that he transfers. He is a good player and will be for another team if you push him away.

Our staff is too soft and didn’t try to improve over players. Go out and buy the best players you can even if it replaces a decent current player.

Coaches are soft and this team was soft. Need killers and coaches who demand excellence.

Heupel can either adjust and become better or keep with status quo. If no real changes are made, he is our mark Richt and we will likely hover around 8-10 wins a year.

I think I’d honestly be “Ok” with averaging 9 wins a year with an occasional pop, and subsequent run.

I obviously “want” more, but who’s gonna get it for us?

The only hope is to force Heup to change. We go searching for another coach, and it’s gonna be bad…

I’m several pages behind so forgive me if this seems out of place. I was 17 almost18 when Johnny Majors was hired, I watched for years as our beloved Vols struggled to regain respectability. Volunteer fans from that era will tell you we needed luck plus every break to fall our way to beat teams slightly better than us. This is why the 1985 Sugar Vols are my all time favorite team. Entering the season most fans were thinking 7 maybe 8 wins. We were a middleweight team with UCLA, Auburn, Alabama and maybe Ole Miss as heavyweights. That team consistently punched above its weight class. The fight and grit that they showed won over hearts and minds all across volnation.
Fast forward to this season, what I saw through out the year was none of that and to cap it off with that piss poor I don’t care performance against Vandy. VANDY the team that no matter how bad we are/were we always beat. Coach Cafego is rolling over in his grave. We don’t lose to Vanderbilt and we @#$& sure don’t lose by 3 touchdowns on senior day in Neyland!!!
This should sting all off season, winter workout, spring practice, summer workouts until you get to play them again and beat the ever living $@#& out of them!!

If a team is sitting at #9 or 10 and lose conference championship, I could see them getting left out .. especially this season...

But can you put in a team from the same conference that didn’t make the championship game? Would you be punishing a team for making their title game?

You know what, **** it. This place sucks. @Freak you let the inmates run the asylum for too long and now anything other than "WE SUCK, HEUPEL SUCKS, BANKS SUCKS" is met with hostility. I may have clapped back at a few of you but I only did it when I was insulted first. Most of you guys are cool @Go Fight Win @SoilVol @Orange. etc , but too many of the FF guys who wander over here are miserable old dudes who act like winning a championship is the only way you'll ever be happy. I come here because I want to talk football, but what you get is a bunch of undiagnosed, ungrateful drunks who get excited when we lose so that they can continue to relish in the shared misery that makes you feel like you're part of something. I've got people in my life that need me, so I can't continue with this BS anymore. I hope it clicks for you guys someday. When we're back to 5-7, 6-6 every year because we ran off the guy who pulled us out of the ashes, I hope you'll be able to appreciate what we had. Later guys. Enjoy your outbursts over the coaches not signing your "must have" portal players.

I want to ask everyone who is questioning the future of the football program right now and predicting things like averaging 9 wins to look again at our recruiting class and look at the other classes ranked in the same neighborhood as ours. Realize that it represents new NIL $ into football that wasn't there a couple of classes ago. And it's not just football. Look at the basketball roster.

The $ is there and is not going away. It just seems to increase. And watch the portal this year too. I bet we nail it. But it won't rank high because most of the teams that will, have a lot more work to do in the portal than we do.

Was at the game. It was pretty loud. A lot of seats open in the upper deck and behind the UT bench. Maybe drop prices a little. Fill it up. However its not up to the fans to cheer constantly while we are getting pounded by vandy. Dropped 2 racks on food, drinks, parking and tickets.

Alabama better win the SEC Championship game be cause if BYU beats Texas Tech in Big 12 Championship game then 2 Big 12 teams make CFP and Alabama drops out.. also Notre Dame isn't safe either with the other two automatic Conference champions could be Tulane and James Madison.

I'd like to think you're smart enough to realize the flawed logic in your post. Are you saying he's been sure-handed? Just because he has that many yards doesn't mean he hasn't had a significant number of drops. And not just the volume of drops, it's the moments he commits them.

Fellow Jimmy Sexton employee Kirk Herbsteit's comments begging Ole Miss to let Lane coach in the playoffs make a lot more sense today.

I used to think it was my personal responsibility to correct everyone who is ever wrong on the internet.

Thank the Lord I dissuaded myself of that. Once you realize no one else's wrong-thinking is at all your responsibility to correct, you can just let people be as wrong as they want as often as they want. It's freeing.

This is not a response to anything specific on this board or anywhere else. Just something that's helped me that I thought might help someone else.

I don’t believe you have dissuaded yourself of that.
