Something seems off with Heupel

Just watched the press conference and I have seen Heupel at the podium before after a loss. But something seemed different this time. Something seemed strange. Heupel didn’t act like himself. He seemed, I don’t know, distant maybe. I wonder if something has happened behind closed doors. Maybe I am just reading it wrong.
Maybe he's decided to move on? Probably a good time to restart his clock I suspect.

If watching this team can be infuriating and exhausting, I can only imagine what it’s like to coach them. Josh is a lot of things, and needs to take some heat, but he isn’t dumb. He knows ball. I would say it’s a combination of a long season of what could have been coupled with the writing on the wall with some of his staff.

They quit in the fourth quarter against OU and they quit last year in Athens and Columbus. They also quit in Columbia in 2022 and in Gainesville the following year.

They didnt quit against OU this year. They were sloppy as F but they didnt quit. I didnt see a team that quit against UGA or OSU. Saw outmatched teams.

Was there in Columbus and there today. This was different....

He saw his team quit for the first time in 5 years...
Wouldn't say it's the first time, but he only has himself to blame. From Carter to assistants, he's not been able to do what needed to be done. Not sure the respect is there anymore especially after the Carter debacle. Still say that was his Kelly Washington moment. Today might have been a death blow to his career at UT.

He brought a **** ton of it on himself. Not a lot of sympathy.

South Carolina in 2022 was far worse than this

Potential playoff berth on the line and we turned in that performance?

This was just a bad game.

That one was mind boggling.

That one was the other time I might consider. I think it was more the off field stuff with Banks and Hooker's injury than quitting. Id chalk that up to lack of focus vs quitting.

Today just felt different....

My concern was he kept playing Boo when he had checked out was that the rest of the team might follow at some point in the future. We saw that today....

And yes, a team quitting falls on the coaching staff...

They did quit. They gave no effort on the long run at the end where the guy could have had the TD but stopped short. OU was literally trying to run clock. Just like they did tonight. They quit in Columbus right after the face mask negated the sack.

They cut it to 21-10 in Columbus with ball to start second. Nico played hard in Columbus. Not well but hard.

Was actually a pretty smart play once OU got first down on that run. Better getting back the ball down 2 scores than them kneeling down 4 times...
