Average at best coaching. Mid-level talent. That's a recipe for an 8-4/9-3 type of ceiling moving forward. We might sneak out 10 wins every time our schedule is ass (like 2024). You're not going to war and winning this conference with a sloppy organization lead by a sloppy leader.

Vandy has the least talent in the SEC.. It's coaching. Doing less with more.

We aren’t a middle of the pack program. We have the resources available to be a top 5 program in the SEC.
Resources, we may possibly have. But we fukking sure did not have the roster to beat Vandy today. We aren't at the top of the league in football. We are middle of the pack. No wins over a team with a winning record. That's average as hell.

Well brother we are the Beverly hillbillies of the sec . Yes we have millions in resources but we still have the poor working class mentality! We seem to have a bad habit of not spending our money wisely either ! First we have continually hired and fire subpar blackheads the last 20 years and pay out millions in buy outs then we paid millions to a 5 star QB that played us like a fiddle and left when he figured the gravy train was over! All the while they constantly raise ticket prices so much that most working class fans can’t really afford to take their families to a game. And when they finally do save enough go ho to a game they get a performance like tonight and all they hear is excuses as to why the team just seemed unprepared and non competitive . Until someone other than the players are held accountable nothing will change for this program we have peaked and will never be in the league many of us want to be in like our rivals. Now the unthinkable has happened tonight Vandy made Tennessee look like a high school team and we have crow all over our faces! Who will take the blame for that? You? Me? I don’t make 9 million a year! Hell I didn’t make 9 million working for 46 years as an engineer. But I can tell you if one of my projects failed like Heupel did tonight I would have been looking for a job tomorrow and I sure in the hell wouldn’t be getting a nice fat buyout to leave neither! Just ponder that and chew on it for a while! Good night!

And many here with enjoy every second of it and call you names for wanting more.

I said the same thing after the Oklahoma loss and got the same excuses .

I recall an episode of the Beverly Hillbillies where they went skeet shooting and the whole family beat one of Mr. Drysdale's stuffy associates. The stuffy associate had this expensive rifle while Jed had a beat-up shotgun. Jed looked at the expensive rifle and said something like "you couldn't hardly miss with that one." Yet the stuffy guy did miss.

I say if we aren’t going to be pulling top 5 classes every year then start pulling experience from the portal like Vandy has and roll with that. It obviously worked for them.

Above average season. Top tier recruiting. Definitely not a middle of the pack program.

I’ve seen that one for sure! For the record the Beverly hillbillies were actually from the ozarks in Arkansas not Tennessee, but I believe my point is still valid just the same!

I don’t know if that’s the best way to describe us, but we certainly aren’t top tier at this point. Pi$$ing away opportunities is our M.O., as is not showing up when there’s something important on the line. Last season seems like a bit of an anomaly that could have been a better situation with hosting a playoff game had we just taken care of business against a very mid Arkansas team.

Fast forward to this season, and we went 1-4 with our big opportunities.

- epic choke against UGA (at home)
- butt kicked by Bummer (our usual no-show on the road)
- epic choke against Oklahoma (at home)
- crapped our drawers against a decent but not great Vandy team (at home)

+ finally managed to beat maybe the worst Florida team in more than a decade gown in the Swamp … exorcised some of the demons.

Not a great feeling to close out the season. Lots of reasons why perhaps we should temper our dissatisfaction a bit. None of that makes today’s embarrassment feel any better.

Again, a big chance on the line: spoil Vandy’s playoff hopes, keep them in their place, and (most of all) shut Pavia up. It was all set up for us. Playing at home. A punk running his mouth and giving a bunch of bulletin board material.

And what did we do? Choked badly.

Oh well. On to next year. Go VOLS!

At present, we are.
I’m not sure what your definition of program is. I don’t see it as timeline related. We’re an average team right now. Program? We have a massive fanbase, plenty of money, and a history of success.
