This is eerily similar to the 2016 season when we had so many injuries but had a dynamic offense, yet we still lost four games and was beat at home by Vanderbilt by double digits if I recall correctly. Remember Butch had a foot out the door and was rumored to be taking another job that was a step down (maybe UNC). Then we lost, they backed out, we kept Butch another year, and he had quit before 2017 started. 4-8 that season. Hope this isn’t setting up the same way.Pathetic end to the season. 3 home losses. Lose by 3 TDs to Vanderbilt at home. Unacceptable.
3rd and Banks.I confess - didn’t see that coming and didn’t believe we’d lose until we failed to stop that 3rd and 6 early in the 4th
I’m over it - life goes on. I resolved long ago not to let football games ruin my weekend. 8-4 is where I thought we’d be this year- rebuilding year.
That said, getting blown out at home by Vandy is inexcusable and we need to fire the defensive staff. The defense this year was awful. The five years of Tim Banks have been largely underwhelming, last year notwithstanding.
Get Joey back in 2026, and pair him with a competent defense and I think we have another fun year.
