Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

The Birmingham Office is not going to allow Bammaw to lose under any circumstances. I hope Auburn plays out of their heads, so the calls and no-calls get progressively more desperate and flagrant until finally any fool cannot miss it. 🤣

That was pretty much the case when Georgia allegedly "beat" Aubie.

That’d be a great a point if they didn’t lose to Florida. Hard to justify putting a team in the playoffs that lost Florida

That said I still think they have a chance though
Hard to put a team in the playoffs that lost big to 2-win Florida State, too. Unless it's Bama. Impunity to the "bad loss" "rule" that Bama touted all day every day three years ago.

Btw, "bad loss" was not a criterion in '22; everyone just acted like it was because the media repeats any lie that Saban tells. Now, this year, Saban is bombarding the airwaves from his media perch that the bad loss doesn't matter. It's all about something else. But "bad loss" is actually in the criterion now iirc because Saban effectively put in there.

The crony CFP stressed that one of its major jobs is to eliminate recency bias: every week is equally weighed. The first week the same as the last. But, they let that go because... Bama.

The SEC has proven multi times they have zero issues with screwing auburn over

They all wanted Richt fired because he couldn't make that next step. Then, when he was let go, everyone thought they were nuts for letting a successful coach go. But that quickly faded with Kirby's success. Which sucks, because I hate that UGA actually got good in football again.

But they didn’t demand it? They didn’t stop going to games and emptying the stadium to force the AD’s hand?

If Kirby doesn’t win a NC this year that’ll be 3 years of no national title. Is it time for a change?

Sounds like they have a loser mentality.

they are being punished to for being idiots that scheduled that game. Was it scheduled before they moved to the SEC? (2012)

Should have beat UF.
They didn’t move to the conference until 3 years ago. It appears that Ohio State home and home was agreed upon many years ago. It got pushed back until now when Texas and Alabama scheduled a series. They play OSU in Austin next year.

Teams evolve as a season goes on and these are still young adults that will have bad games. I want the best twelve teams. Not the twelve teams who have better records because they have easier schedules.

Greg Mcelroy was already creating the narrative that the Tejas loss to Ohio state was at the beginning of the season and it was a tough out of conference game.

He'll be on the talk shows tomorrow talking about the bama loss to FSU shouldn’t matter because it was the 1st game of the season and a tough out of conference game

Spin, spin, spin

Swamp 247 subscribers are taking their mods to task in a new thread over there.

"This is not how you save subscribers. Someone should come and say. ā€œOle Miss shouldn’t have more sources than the UF beat.ā€ We are going to change this immediately."
These guys are steamed.

"I was just renewed for an annual…. How do I get a refund?"

I hope Texas doesn’t make it. I don’t like them. Lol

I’m saying for our sport and the future, we can’t just base the top teams off of W/L. Because all schedules are not equal and we saw tonight how such favorable scheduling can prove who is really good and who is not. I love great out do conference games and if you punish teams for scheduling them, then they will go away.
