As usual Barnes did his thing proving he’s an exceptional coach. We had like 3 turnovers in the first 7 minutes. Called em down and finished the game tied 9-9. The late usage of fouls to kill clock under 10. And the obvious halftime adjustment focusing team on execution of relentless defense. Real heart check tonight. And they all passed. I may not sleep tonight.

Ament is the best Freshman that can creating and draw fouls I can remember in nun yo business, especially knowing he’s been given a lead this team role too.
Carey got carried away at times but that’s what I love about him. He’s what used to be called a spaz, in the best way at times.
BlocPara is the guy that won’t get enough credit all year, but this squad would look like and BE much more beatable without.
And my guy #77!!!! He’s got(and this needs to include Boswell) that defensive attitude that’s contagious and this team needs like air.

Thanks for this info. ℹ️ had no idea who “wins” the tournament with 18 teams in it. UT beating UH is all they needed out of this trip. Like a heavyweight boxing match!!!!

This may be the most complete team the Vols have ever had. The front line is without question our best ever with Okpara, Phillips, Estrella, Carey and Brown. Abram looked really good tonight, especially on D. Boz is looking like a real stud. Gillespie is now the man. If Ament can continue to get comfortable and reach his potential as a freshman, this could be the Vols best team ever. Carey needs to stop throwing stupid passes, but he's a stud on and around the boards. Thus far, haven't seen anything from Burg (looks like a turnover machine with no offense) that makes me think he should be on the floor, but he must have something because Barnes keeps putting him in the game.

Clamp down defense, deny the 3, ferocious on-ball defense with help defenders at the top of the key. Houston looked as helpless as we did, perhaps more so given that we didn’t get the benefit of being white hot from 3 like they were in the 1st half.

My only complaint was the handling of the final 30 seconds. We had fouls to give. Boswell should foul Uzan driving to the basket instead of letting up and giving him a free 2 pts with 11 secs left. Then he should have fouled Flemings as soon as he crossed halfcourt before he got off a 3-pt shot with 7 secs left. Make them inbound the ball (they had no TOs) twice there and run more clock. Curious what Barnes wanted there, but man, I don't like hiw that was handled.

I even told another poster that losing to Houston shouldn’t change your opinion about this team at all. I’m just reacting to what I’m watching, which at the time was a 12-point deficit and Houston shooting lights out from 3 lol.

Digging around UT sports and internet about this tourney and not much info out there. Looks like we might play at either 6:00 CT or 8:00 CT and if we win the "championship" is Thursday some time. Anyone have better info? Thx!

The ONLY games on Thursday are 2 consolation games.

TN 99% plays Wednesday at 7 or 9:30 EASTERN.
