This is a better scenario for FB and he knows it. Puts him on an even playing field with GMac competing for the job in 2027, since he’ll have a year in the program under his belt.

He’s not transferring because he has to wait a year to start. But if he loses the job to GMac in 2026 because he’s a raw true freshman, he probably transfers because Mac will have 4 years of eligibility left.

I genuinely am comfortable with GMAC taking the reins as TN QB. If that’s what were to happen.

But in no universe does he beat out Faizon Brandon. He’s not raw. He was born to play QB.

Also Caden Dunham - RB for LSU is unhappy there. I think Tennessee is a great place for him to come play with Bishop and Lewis, Morris.

If Joey comes back then Heupel will be on very solid ground and 2027 will be the real battle. But that will allow Heupel to get 2027 QB or two on the roster. And I really think they need to look at some guys around the state like Perkins at Southwind or a PWO offer the other prolific QBs that want to be a Part of Tennessee program for 2026

Bc NC football is very reliant on like 10 teams. Grimsley blew nearly everyone out this season and Faizon missed a large chunk of the year. They are just so much more talented that everyone else. Won a second round playoff game 55-12. Grimsley did not face a real challenge last year until the state quarterfinals when they faced Hough with guys like Tyran Evans, Samari Matthews, Ethan Royal, etc. That is why Faizon needs to take some time to sit and develop. He does not have to do too much facing meh competition for the most of the season and it is one read stuff to big time playmakers around him. Obviously, Faizon potential is thru the roof but I would not want to just immediately throw him out to the wolves right away...

- Joey will return in 26 on Pavia's lawsuit.
- Merk will transfer.
- GMac will backup and potentially come in for Joey at times if he starts throwing picks.
- Brandon will redshirt.

Yeah if Joey comes back (I wouldn't hate it) I think GMac likely transfers out. I'm already of the belief Merk was gone regardless.

I think he’s already proven it. JMO.
But he’s unstoppable.

If he goes to Austin Peay, then he will get to play.
And then he will see Faizon also play, and realize nope that spot is taken. So he will stay where he’s at or leave but either way he won’t come to Tennessee. And I don’t even now if he’s on Tennessee radar.

Another player worth a PWO is Caden Baugh - Greenville QB. But he’s fast. Good passer but very interesting DB or Slot WR prospect.
1,000 yards rushing for the Green Devils. 2nd fastest guy on that team next to Zay Anderson.

i think he’s a better DB prospect than Thompson who we took a commitment from.

Baugh is a hell of player. There’s spots available on Tennessee roster for a player like him.

Kid is quick as a hiccup.
