Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

See I look at the second half differently. In the first half we had 3 that I remember but I feel like there was a 4th, starter go out with an injury for a certain amount of time. I feel like they all came back in, but I could be wrong about that part. So, you have a much bigger game coming up and you’re already up 31 on a rival that, let’s be honest, if we wanted to we could have dropped another 30 on. I’m perfectly fine with taking it easy to come out of the game without any serious injuries, especially given how thin we are at certain spots.

It was very obvious that that is what they were doing. If it looked like we were actually trying to score, and just couldn’t, then I would definitely be agreeing with you.
good post--- yeah he probably learned from last week leaving the starters in too long and some got hurt...

Did anyone else hear the comment that no one on this year's roster had ever played in the Swamp? Did I hear that right? Is that even true? If so, that's how you break a streak. Just don't have anyone on the team that has experienced the curse. Completely new bloodline!
Hm. I can think of some on roster that have.

But the starting O. I don’t think any of them have. So maybe they meant that??

Heupel has done some amazing things:

- Won the Orange bowl
- Beat Saban
- Most dominant performance against Florida since 1990
- Most dominant performance in the Swamp ever - ending a terrible streak
- Emptied Tiger Stadium in 2022
- Best offense in Tennessee history
- College football playoff birth
- Has done all this with 4 different QBs in 5 years
- Took a QB in the summer and made him the 6th 3,000 yard passer in Tennessee history

He’s piling up all-time Vol memories and moments and the list could keep going…
Don't forget a #1 ranking in Y2.

And we've now been ranked 59 of the last 60 weeks. 33 in a row I believe currently. Not hard to remember entire coaching staffs where we were only ranked a handful of times smdh

But if he doesn’t improve then we need to realize he may not be the one!

For the non orange colored glasses people on here, did I do that right?

if ya'll don't think next season when FL comes to Neyland with a new coach that they won't even blink if they can run up 50 on us... you are crazy.

vAndy is coming to Neyland and if you think they won't run up 50 on us if they can, you are crazy...

We played two different halves of football last night... first half was business and we kicked arse... second half we just coasted and seemed to feel sorry for them and wouldn't run up the score... beta move... since 2003... and we just tried to run out the clock the entire 4th...

portal shopping should include a consistent kicker if we are thinking on trying to make the playoffs anytime soon... we will be in close games where we need to have confidence in our kicker in the 40+ yard range...

Glad we broke the curse and hopefully this gets the team energized and confident for our last game... it's gonna be a battle...
I don't think it was feeling sorry. I think it was the realization that they could never score 30+ on us in a half of football without us giving them gifts, so we were not going to give them any gifts, and we were going to shorten the game and give them as little possession time as possible.

If we blow out Vandy we'd have a slim chance at the playoffs.
Notre Dame losing to Stanford will help lots of teams...in the big picture

3 Big Ten teams are absolutely in at this moment
Ohio State. Indiana and Oregon with Michigan lurking
5 SEC teams
Texas A&M, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and Oklahoma
Notre Dame
Group of 5 as of now is Tulane
That's 10..

one big 12 team.
Texas Tech or BYU

Oops forgot the one ACC team..
Flip a coin.

Also, it sounds like you'd complain if someone paid your mortgage for you.

1st....do everyone a favor and post less.

2nd..... we dont play UF next year genius.

why are all these media guys pushing for Pavia to get a Heisman invite? His stats suck and he and his mom are just loud and in your face... Even Clay Travis thinks he should go... When has a QB who's projected as a 6-7th rounder in line for a Heisman?
When they have Vandy at the playoff doorstep.

I know I know we controlled our own destiny with the playoffs but there is a scenario that could put us back there.

If Alabama loses to Auburn and we handle our business with Vanderbilt we sneak in as the 5th SEC team.

If you bring up head to head I’ll point you to the direction of Miami and Notre Dame. If you say but we lost 3 games I’ll say go watch what the playoff commish had to say last week “loses are ranked from good to bad and how you lost”

It’ll be interesting to see how far we move on Tuesday. I think we had one of the harder matchups Saturday and the panel rewards that too.
