This! And I don't think it is particularly Heupel changing his personal philosophy. I think he has got burnt with some costly interceptions from Joey, especially when he is trying to overcompensate.

Notice we haven't gone deep all night. I think Heupel wants Joey to settle for what the defense gives him, be methodical, and remember we have a run game. But the last thing we can afford is momentum shifting turnovers on the road.

It is so weird that a coach who designs his entire scheme around a fast pace offense is so bad at 2 minutes or less play calling.

It’s really a paradox.

I will still take 31-0 against FL in the swamp any day and outside of that we have played a damn near perfect game. He just has to shore that up for future close games.
