Believe so. Vandy is working on an extension with Lea first. He turned down a big number from PSU to stay and Vandy low balled him, so they’re working through it.
I hadn't heard explicitly he rebuffed PSU. That's interesting. In 10 years time Penn State has gone from being able to hire away the Vanderbilt coach to being unable to.

I'm wondering how many in that organization right now are having second-thoughts about axing Franklin. Sometimes the grass isn't greener on the other side. It's field turf.

Yes, I have thought so since they first emerged as a threat. SEC fans are really slow on the take to this but UF fans have been saying "We're Vandy now" for 3 years. Meanwhile, Vany isn't the Same 'Ol Vandy.

People here laughed when I suggested of our semi-permanent opponents that Vandy game is going to end up the toughest out the next 4 years.
Vanderbilt is not, and will never be, our toughest game. . . outside of maybe 1 season every 15 or 20 years.

Grade of slaw is a healthy way to look at it. This forum is more interesting when people can share opinions, rumors, predictions without it spiraling into name calling or the “no true Vol fan would post that” typical response. I just think it’s better if we operate from a basic good faith perspective.
Don’t disagree at all, and they works both ways. Imo most of volnation are in the middle. But there is a portion, on each end of the spectrum, that’s just nonsensical. I tolerate overly positive much better than overly negative. That’s just me. So I have most of the ones who are incessantly negative, or who just like to stir the pot, on ignore. That way I don’t respond and folks don’t have to sift through pages of useless arguments, more than normal lol

no one… They haven’t made a hire yet to know if it’s going to be greener or not.

I seriously doubt Lea turned down PSU without already having an acceptable offer in hand from Vandy.

Could be he hasn't signed it yet because he's trying to build leverage using other openings. It's a guess, but it's something we see coaches do.

EDIT: HA HA HA! I had a hunch, so I looked it up: Clark Lea's agent is Jimmy Sexton. Good bet this is it.

This Arkansas St coach has them playing great! If Heupel ever leaves. . .

In all fairness, missing an easy game winning fg against a team you hate, like UGA, can launch the bile into the throat pretty quickly.
I get the immediate emotional response...we ALL get that sudden putrid gutted feeling, which is immediately followed by a few minutes or hours...even a few days in some cases..of pure rage filled temporary insanity...I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND that feeling as I suffer it also...

What I don't understand is the onset permanent obtuse stupidity and blindness to all forms of the truth of situations...this is a fundamental incontrovertible fact.of our season...we are literally 5-6 plays away from being a undefeated or one loss team....with almist our whole extremely talented, extremely expensive defensive backfield being useless for the whole year for one reason or another..

You cannot make me believe that this staff can not make those handful of plays as we go forward from here, and the roster gets better.

It's 2025.

We live in a world where Georgia fans invent "We didn't want them anyway" narratives around 5-star QB commits they expect to lose to Vandy. from 247:

"I’m not worried… Gunner has 1 more year, then Pugs will be amazing… then Wade.

Curtis seems to have a lot of Carson Beck in him from personality standpoint. Sure lots of talent, but wants to be the man immediately and he paid and then spend it on stupid stuff to feel a need that won’t be filled by stuff. Let him go… we have what we need."

But we can also say we chose Brandon over Curtis. There are tiers to this. Vandy isn't Tennessee.

I'm not here to argue. I'm here to share my opinions. I shouldn't have to justify this one. It should be obvious. I get why it's not but I'm not here to argue.
Argue? 😂.

There is no reason to believe Vanderbilt will be anything more than the doormat they've been for the past century once Pavia is gone. Why do you think they'll suddenly become the toughest opponent on our schedule? . . which means they would be the best team in the SEC, because we already have the best SEC teams on our schedule.
