Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

In the NIL era, I’d put Texas and Texas A&M at the top and the other traditional blue bloods together in a tier 2. Doesn’t mean teams in tier 2 can’t win anymore - I just think the Texas schools are set up the best to ensure sustained success ($$$$). In fact, A&M has quietly been one of the most consistent football teams in the conference since joining in 2012 - they just can’t seem to punch through to the top, until this year. The new tier 2 can win, but they can also all tank like UF and Auburn. I’m not sure either of the Texas schools will spend any meaningful time in the gutter in the years to come.

Yeah sounds like a solid plan.
Gmacs 7-9 in 2 games experience is promising .
And The other option is looking good in high school….
So we should throw more money at a portal QB to come here, then let GMac transfer after next season, after we paid him a boatload of money to come here to begin with, having never played a meaningful down for us? Heaven forbid the kid actually improve with an off-season of first-string reps.

If we're not going to play the QBs we actually recruit, then we need to stop paying them to come here.

They see GMac all the time. They know if they believe he will be good enough. This offense is designed to make bad qbs good and good qbs great, etc. The main thing is making sure the qb can throw a decent deep ball.
