Yes. He interacted with a player that just scored a TD. Even if that wasn’t the case, there are dozens of cameras covering the game plus thousands of people in the stands with phones. Everyone should assume they’re on camera every time they’re out in public and act accordingly. Aren’t we supposed to hold police to a higher level of accountability given their authority and position? You really think he knew he was on tv ?
You didn’t start at the beginning of this typed conversation, did you?Are you of the belief this was ok?
I understand why he followed them and ordered them out of the tunnel. Keeping people where they are meant to be during the event is why he was getting paid to be there.
The shoulder check was childish and not acceptable when you consider the reverse is assaulting a law enforcement officer and very serious.
You’re premise that he followed then to tell them to leave is contradicted by the actual video. He would’ve stopped short and pointed, making way for them to pass if all he was doing was what you propose. You didn’t start at the beginning of this typed conversation, did you?
It’s OK, I’ll go find it for you.
I posted this just to start a conversation about unnecessary behavior by ONE PERSON in a position of power. The patrolman got his just deserts and lost the ability for O.T. pay and watching football from a really privileged place. This was never meant to be an opinion piece on the legitimacy of law enforcement in general. It was one jerk doing something stupid. I have had unpleasant encounters with the cops, but they have been vastly outweighed by pleasant ones. Let's not tar all of them for this.
He positioned himself between the players and the direction that he told them to return from. Why would someone block the way that they were directing someone to go? There’s no confusion there as far as I can tell. You’re premise that he followed then to tell them to leave is contradicted by the actual video. But the video clearly shows him intently walking through them. No attempt at stopping. he didn’t engage with them about leaving until after he initiated contact.
If I was a defense layer in Texas, I’d be looking into any case with his name on it.
You must be double jointed, because you're twisting yourself into a pretzel trying to make his actions make sense. He positioned himself between the players and the direction that he told them to return from. I'm starting to think you didn't even really watch it. Here:
Nothng you say is correct; he didn't tell them to go back to the field, they already were. He walked towards them as they were coming back. You're completely making up this "directing". He purposedly started walking up between them when again...they were already walking back to the field when he started the whole thing.
YOUR premise is he followed them up the ramp to tell them to go back (which that alone is beyond stupid) is 100% false. He didn't tell them to go back to the field until AFTER he purposedly bumped into them. He didn't say a damn word to them before that, and for about the 5th time they were ALREADY walking back to the field.
