Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Notre Dame doesn't deserve to be at #9 in the CFP. They're there on name alone. Their schedule doesn't support the ranking. I hope they lose to Pitt this weekend.

Texas is also overrated. What sucks is being rated #10 means we probably don't jump them if Georgia thumps them this weekend.

Several teams in front of us that we are better than, but the most glaring is 3 loss Iowa. Given who our losses are to, we should be the highest ranked 3-loss team.

We need total chaos in college football the next few weeks with us winning out. We won't make the playoffs, but I want us to finish as the highest rated SEC team to miss the playoffs. Let's at least get a Florida bowl.
It’s all about views and money. If anyone is close and they bring $$$ or donate $$$, they will get higher priority.

Don't think Tanner Scott is a closer, he is more of a 8th inning set up guy... Question is does Sasaki stay in closers role or does he go back to starting?

Snell
Glasnow
Yamamoto
Ohtani
Sheehan

Probably starting rotation plus 3 starters coming back off injury.
We prefer to use a six man rotation. It just wasn’t possible much of the year.

I agree.

A DC and a kicker away from having no more than one loss even with slanted officiating.

OSU lost two regular season games last year and clearly deserved to win the NC. We were not ready for that this year.

Let's focus on preparing for 2026 the rest of the way. Learn how to beat good teams again. There is only one left on the schedule. Play the guys with upside for that purpose.
We are also a few plays away from having our coach on the hottest of hot seats.

SIAP but can someone correct me if I’m wrong…. In reading the fine print of the Hulu + Live TV pkg it looks like you only get the ESPN Select programming (legacy ESPN+) and not ESPN Unlimited. Is this correct? If so, that’s a bogus deal.

Blah. Only thing that maters is that YouTube comes on top in their battle with ESPN.

For me, it's mostly about setting us up for the future. What's better with Recrutis? Once again making the playoffs or winning a bowl game?

I’d argue having stability at the administration level and coaching level year in and year out has to be huge for recruits, especially when combined with our highly competitive NIL program, consistency in winning 9+ games and track record of putting players in the NFL.

I love how Tennessee is differentiating itself on coaching and administrative stability more than anything else

Firing your way to glory ain’t the way!

Current capacity for Neyland is 101,915 our previous attendance record was in 2004 against Florida 109,061

Curious what they'd be changing to the North End Zone and how many more butts they wanna add. Most of it is already damn aluminum bleachers anyway.

Embrace the lack of space. It just brings us all closer together during the gut wrenching heart attacking games they put us through.
